Well, that may be so, but bad multi-accounting can still wreck your game, particularly if you're stuck between them.
I haven't looked at this game, so I won't pass judgement, but I don't think it should wait until a player prospers before it becomes a crime

I don't actually see how that excerpt shows he confessed to multi accounting. Perhaps I need more context.

As it is, the multi account detection system is not picking up anything that warrants a ban. I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Ok, there's no need for the attitude, and I am a moderator. I can see that you're upset about this, but I need more evidence before I ban them. If you could give me more context to your quotation, more specific evidence, and any other information you think will help me determine their culpability, then I'll be happy to ban them.

i'm not a lawyer. that's the best i can provide. to me his words are clear; "sorry i couldn't resist" can't mean much else. plus you have the evidence and the other players (stratagos for example) as witnesses for jhsu/kuang missing turns together and logging in at the same time. if you decide it's not enough then i accept your decision.

What about a general summary of the game from your eyes? In particular where the alleged multi-accounting affected you.

Can jhsu do the same? With particular focus on his relations with the alleged multi and justifications for it?

That may keep the conversation going. Chrisp obviously can't institute a ban with as little proof as there is right now. But jhsu may quite possibly be multi-accounting.

well like i said i'm no lawyer.. this is the best i can do. as you can see from the chat, i already had a strong hunch before he confessed. but when he wrote the words "sorry i couldn't resist :D" i think it was just plain obvious. at that point i thought it was worth reporting. anyway i doubt i'll be playing with him again so it really doesn't benefit me whether he's punished or not. if chris doesn't think there's enough proof then i totally accept his decision. i'm on my way to winning the game but like most players here i don't appreciate cheaters or people with low moral character..

Plain obvious that I was about to lose and could not resist the double attacks of France and Russia. If you notice the time at which I posted this blatant 'confession,' you might notice that I had no chance of 'resisting' the combined might of two very ambitious people, one of whom gave me a very welcome invitation to my defeat.

lazy: When Crispimints says the detection system didn't pick anything up, don't you think he's refering to some logic that comare things between the two accounts in an automated fashion? Don't you think that's a little more reliable than one singe message in the global chat?

For instance, IP addresses can determine where you are at in the world - If they log IP addresses, and part of the check shows up one in Melbourne and one in Witchita - uhhhh, probably not multis (I mean someone will some knowlege and skill could still fool it, but just to multi on phpdiplo? - not likely)

That's just ONE way that I can think of off the top of my head, I assume their detection looks at many different comparison points, that they probably wouldn't want to share because it would make it easier for multis to know how to avoid.

But really - one line in a global chat is all you have to go on?
