Let's figure out just how strong the third party is we have 17 people and the third party needs to haunt all of the people alive to win.

So let's go Day by Day with two assumptions: 1 person dies per day and night, and they only haunt people who live (this is essentially their optimal world, though it changes with day vigs and the like) and they don't die.

Given it takes them until End of Day 5 to win with nothing bad happening to them, the ghost should not really be a priority I believe, but someone should do the math on how quick for the mafia to win.

Actually doing some head calculating, it takes the mafia to end of day 5 to win without day vigs and while not getting lynched. They are surprisingly equal threats with optimal play, though it is more likely for 4 mafia to survive than all of the players selected by the ghost.

Remember too that the Ghost acts as a Doctor when he visits during the night - The dastardly Mafia will definitely want him gone asap.

@Vashta, I think you have too many hauntings. Ghost can only haunt at ninght, right?

But if they haunt the person with the pitchfork, they can kill one person per day for as long as they control the pitchfork. If that starts to happen, the pitchfork holder can claim and we may have to lynch them just to prevent a bloodbath.

Oh wait, haunting only happens at night. NvM Ghost is not that scary

You seem to hold a double standard, good sir. Vash is the one that misrepresented facts, not I. Either he actually made a mistake with the phases the ghost haunts in or he is deliberately trying to mislead people. Personally, I find it harder to believe that he made the mistake.

And yet somehow I am the one that comes under your scrutiny? I find that a strange thing indeed.

My experience is nil. Perhaps I do not understand the meta-game and old alliances... Whether that is an advantage or not still remains to be seen.

I feel like neither is true. Vash pointed out that D5 EoD is the earliest ghost win, which is slow compared to recent games, and I'm willing to give you benefit of the doubt for now. I don't like MF jumping right on you, I don't like Jamie inferring the ghost has a higher priority than the mafia

Am I correct in thinking that only the Mafia know for certain who anyone else is? When I see someone jump to defend another person this early in the game (MF with Vash) I can't help but assume I am correct in my initial musings.

And I am aware that Vashta hastened to correct his mistake when it was pointed out. I'm not accusing him of anything yet, I'm simply raising the possibility.

I stand by my assessment that it is in the Mafia's best interest to see the ghost gone as soon as possible... Therefore anyone trying to put too much attention on the ghost starts alarm bells in my head.

Why did the game start? I can't really check in tonight or tomorrow.

@floodgates - welcome to the world of Mafia. Most important thing to know is if you're a PR don't disclose your role too early. When you think time is right, it probably isn't, delay as long as you can. Also what paint would you use to paint a target on a ghost?
