Most of them are pushing for their reelection campaigns. They spend more time raising money and preparing for the next election, then they do on running the country.

Marco Rubio was probably one of the worst Senators in modern history. He only ever co-sponsored one bill which he ultimately voted against. He never appeared in the Senate during his campaign unlike Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders. He refused to resign his position while running for President so a more useful candidate could make a difference in the Senate. Perfect example of selfish Repubs

Bernie Sander's isn't going to do any better in the upcoming primaries. Bernie is losing minority votes in huge margins. Mostly 3-to-1 but as high as 9-to-1. This is across almost every state. Coming up in the bluest states, NY is 45% minority. Same ~45% for NJ and MD.

Except, you know, the minorities that aren't African American.

Regardless, even though no demographic is cut and dry, and he does better with other minorities, he is still clearly behind, overall, in latino vote too.

Now for sure he performs worse with minorities in the south, and african-americans are his worst racial demographic, but let's not ignore the fact that the minority vote is still killing the guy. I think I had this debate an age ago with bo and someone else on the forum, who seemed convinced it wouldn't be so bad.
