Wisdom or Rubbish? A Thread for Evaluating Famous One-Line Nuggets of Advice.
Post your favorite--or most hated--one-line maxim or saying or quote or *insert another synonym here.*

The next person to post will then say what they think of your posted saying, ie, Wisdom or Rubbish and why, and post their own little one-liner. Repeat until hell freezes over (or we get bored...or we devolve into a name-calling contest...whichever comes first...ha, as if it's a question which will come first...)

Rank falling dramatically
So, one day my rank said that I was in the top 62% and I was considered a member... but then randomly it fell to the top 92% and now I'm a casual player. I didn't draw, win, lose, survive, or resign any games in between this period. Why did this happen?

Draws in PPSC
I was wondering to myself why the pot is split evenly in a PPSC draw. I thought it would make more sense, and make things more interesting, if the draw ended the game and dealt out the points each player is currently "worth" in the game.

NFL Pick 'em--PLAYOFF EDITION...12 TEAMS, 1 GOAL...IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!
The Chargers are the last team standing in that crazy race for the 6th seed in the AFC. Aaron Rodgers rained all over Da Bears' parade, leading the Pack to victory and setting up another classic Niners/Packers clash...only this time, at Lambeau Field. A typical Cowboys/Eagles clash ended in the typical Cowboy way...but it was Orton throwing the season-ending pick this time. The NFC: SEA, CAR, PHI, GB, SF, NO. The AFC: DEN, NE, CIN, IND, KC, SD. The Playoffs...PICK 'EM!

"I love Bill clinton"
http://news.investors.com/Politics-Andrew-Malcolm/012014-686774-barbara-bush-bill-clinton-cspan.htm?ven=rss

Awesome -- there's a woman of integrity. I totally agree with her - have always thought Clinton would be an awesome guy to hang with...even if his politics sucked.

"Broaddrick says Clinton then startled her by embracing her and saying, “We’re both married people.” Juanita says she responded that she had no such interest in him and that she was in love with David Broaddrick, whom she later married in 1981. Broaddrick says Clinton persisted and forced her onto the bed and used his strength to hold her down.

According to Broaddrick’s account Clinton tore apart her pantyhose at the crotch, that he inflicted pain when he penetrated her, and that he bit her lips which also inflicted pain. Norma Rogers says she found Juanita on the same bed shortly afterward, in a state of shock, her pantyhose torn in the crotch.

Broaddrick says that after his ejaculation, Clinton told her not to worry about becoming pregnant for he had the mumps when he was a child and that he was sterile. Juanita first publicly told of Clinton’s claim of sterility in 1999 when Chelsea was about 20 years old. He was reportedly the first president who has kept his medical records secret."

"A way with women"... oh you betcha.

Bill Clinton being able to sustain an image as a lovable rascal is amazing considering how much tawdry and criminal behavior we have evidence of. I mean, Gennifer Flowers, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, of course Monica Lewinsky, bombing Iraq to distract from his impeachment, shady pardons, Whitewater, China giving money to his reelection campaign, committing perjury and obstructing justice in the Lewinsky scandal, the list goes on.

But still, a man who at best is a confirmed rake and at worst an outright rapist is said to have a "way with women." A man who, while his two immediate successors are more or less his equals, had a presidency rife with the worst kinds of abuses of power is lauded as an elder statesman and plausibly is only a few years away from a de facto third term.

He really must be an amazing force in person to be able to get people to set all that aside.

well i guess he has MORE than one way with women then? the word i was pointing to is charisma, i mean the man's just got it

Holy shit Krellin! Bill Clinton has you halfway under his spell. Even *Chris Matthews* was appalled when he snapped out of it:

"Clinton lies knowing that you know he's lying. It's brutal and it subjugates the person who's being lied to. I resent deeply being constantly lied to."

Bill Clinton is a master politician.

I wouldn't say that a Hillary Clinton Presidency is a de-facto third term, however lamentable Bill may be.
krellin (80 DX)
21 Jan 14 UTC
I don’t think a Hillary Presidency would be a 3rd Bill Clinton term at all. While I believe Hillary used the fact of her husband’s bad behavior and Presidency to advance her own career, she has never demonstrated herself to be one that looks to others to guide her actions. While she has held increasingly important roles in the Federal Government, Bill has been off running around the world with George Bush, of all people…Bill’s having too much fun to want to go back and try to manipulate his wife’s actions, and she’d sooner take a rusty nail in the ass than do his bidding, I suspect.
Invictus (240 D)

Considering how much influence Hillary had when Bill was president, why should we not expect at least the same to happen with Bill if Hillary gets elected? And since Bill will be a former president with unparalleled experience, why wouldn't it he have much, much more influence than Hillary did back then, when she was basically just a successful lawyer? Who else is she going to turn to for advice on the kinds of things only presidents deal with? Who else is going to be able to talk to a president as an equal besides a former president? Who in her staff would second-guess him? Would she even second-guess him?

Anyone who thinks they aren't reelecting Bill Clinton by voting for Hillary Clinton is delusional.
