An interesting comment on the topic of torture
According to this man, torture works very well and is intensively practised in the Middle East. translate.google.com from Dutch to your language

I am routinely shocked...
... at how frequently I find myself in conversations with people twenty or more years' my senior, only to sadly learn that they still believe completely in silly concepts such as good and evil or better and worse.

Does this bother anybody else like it does me?

In This Winter of Discontent--Richard III Found
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/03/king-richard-iii-skeleton-bones_n_2610707.html?utm_hp_ref=world&amp ""It will be a whole new era for Richard III," the society's Lynda Pidgeon said."
(Nope I'm...I'm pretty sure he's still gonna be dead...dead and famous for Lizzie telling Will, "Here, take this gold and write a play talking shit about this guy my grandpa hated.")
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

Well, POSSIBLY found...the point is 1. That'd be kind of neat, but 2. Yeah..."a new era" for a king dead hundreds of years and most famous now, perhaps, for Will writing "A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!" and Lizzie promptly giggling at shit being said against her grand-dad's enemy...

Yeah. Kind of late for Richard III to have "a whole new era"...just saying.

Perhaps a new historic era. Would be interesting to find out more of what really happened versus what Henry VII said happened. Oh and Richard III is one of my favorite, if not favorite, Shakespearean play.
I think they meant a new era in terms of scholarly interest in Richard III. I was at Bosworth a few months ago (thought they were digging him up there, not in Leister....which is quite a ways away) but the whole story is fascinating.

I really hope they can come to some closer to the truth conclusions. I find the whole war of the roses to be utterly fascinating for some reason.

According to wikipedia and the project web page, confirmation has now been made via DNA tests.

It is beyond reasonable doubt that's it's him. It is quite funny that the Richard lll society have been denying for years that Richard was a hunchback and that was all part of the Tudor conspiracy.

Well... he wasn't a hunchback. He just had scoliosis. Those two aren't the same things.

No more colored then Henry VII or any number of other kings at the time. You should look into what Richard III actually putting into place rather then going by what you just hear.

If wikipedia is to be believed then he failed big time at the all important King measure, the coat of arms...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_Arms_of_Richard_III_of_England_%281483-1485%29.svg

What the bloody hell are they?!? A Lion and Unicorn have a bit of class... But some sort of twisted pair of rampant Pig-Ponies?!? What the feck was he thinking??????
That was the coat of arms of his personal bodyguard. They all wore boar pins or patches into battle, if I remember correctly. That's how they figured out approximately where he died, because his entire bodyguard was cut down with him.

Actually I believe all that stuff is suppose to have meaning but I'm not 100% sure. Also he did do a bunch of nice stuff. From wikipedia: In December 1483, Richard instituted what later became known as the Court of Requests, a court to which poor people who could not afford legal representation could apply for their grievances to be heard.[54] He also introduced bail in January 1484, to protect suspected felons from imprisonment before trial and to protect their property from seizure during that time.[55] He founded the College of Arms in 1484,[56] he banned restrictions on the printing and sale of books,[57] and he ordered the translation of the written Laws and Statutes from the traditional French into English.[58]

Also remember that entire period was pretty messed up. So, the whole lot of them should be lumped together as bad monarchs.

Highly rated world game
It has been awhile since I've been a part of a world map game where the competition was of the highest caliber, and that game was marred by all kinds of interference. I'd like to see another one given a go! Who's interested?

I was wondering how a game would go about being unpaused. A mod came in and said "(jmo1121109): Dear members, It appears several of you know each other in real life. ... This game will be paused until we can get this sorted out. ..." Why can't we keep playing? gameID=109485

How do you concede? I see Left at times when players have conceded, but I don't know how it's done. Any help is much appreciated.

Please Unpause Game 109378
We paused Game 109378, and now we can't seem to unpause it. Everyone reports the same thing: they click on Unpaude, but the button stays in the Vote column. Could we have a Mod unpause the game, or are we doing something wrong?

Live Diplomacy
How difficult would it be to make a real-time game similar to diplomacy? Where your troops move slowly to their objectives over the course of a day or so, and with more flexibility of orders (co-ordinates rather than provinces) etc?
