The Redskins Rule--RGIII vs. Cam Newton for the Presidency!
17 out of the last 18 elections it's been the case that if the Redskins win their last game before the election, the incumbent president wins; if they lose, the challenger wins.
SO! Months of campaigning and billions of dollars comes down to RGIII and the Redskins on Sunday...vs. the 1-6 Panthers and a slumping Cam Newton. ...Sorry, Romneyites...HAIL TO THE REDSKINS, HAIL VICTORY... ;)

Good game everyone.

I like the variant, although I think there would need to be some adjustments to how I play. For one thing, it takes a turn or two to get a message across, where before it could be done without using a season's moves. That moves up the point of no return when trying to stop a solo. Five countries coming together is tough in any kind of Gunboat, but I believe the first game could have been drawn had Fra and Ita found a way to come to terms.

In the second game I wish Germany would have taken Den when he was coming back to fight Russia. The Russian build of A-Mos got in my head, and I punked out on trying to move on Italy in the Spring. I'm not sure how successful I'd have been, but at least I would have tried.

Sorry about my draw vote earlier as Russia, I forgot about the rule.
For the first game, I just couldn't seem to have Italy back off. Once I took Tunis, Italy wouldn't stop attacking me. So, eventually I just suicided on Italy.

No worries, and yeah, I saw that :P

I do think that it could have been worked out without being able to draw though.

Me!
I liked this game and will play another one.

As far as an EOG goes, Italy's move west and my peace with russia allowed me to in combination with some lucky breaks take on France and England at the same time. I recognized the A/I in the south so I stayed focused west to battle Italy. I trusted Russia a lot and it worked most of the game. Then, out of nowhere I am stabbed. I completely turn my forces on Russia at this instance, the goal being his elimination. I had a very lucky break in the west one autumn when I defended both PAR and BRE from Italy against tough odds. This saved me, I think. Eventually Russia knew fighting me was futile and he turned away, I recognized the need to focus on A/I again and we made a good stalemate, without anyone getting too close. I was worried Russia would not figure out what to do, but he pulled it off. A good game, thanks all.

Very fun games. I had the misfortune of drawing England twice, which isn't to say it's a bad draw, but I like a little variety sometimes. Used the same opening both games - it was a huge success in the first, a massive failure in the second. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Quickest win ever?
What is the shortest amount of time it can take for a country to win the game? I'm assuming EVERYTHING goes accordingly and no one stops that country. What is the shortest amount of times (in seasons) and which country would I have to be?
