I know, I know, I'm super slow. I'm still very insecure in endgames so I must go slowly.
That aside, I'm pretty satisfied with myself. I played France. In the early years, I survived German onslaughts and managed to take an English center. Germany played the tug of war with Belgium for a while, then England came and took Portugal. I managed to expel both of them and started feeling more secure when Germany took Burgundy and Gascony in 1908! It was the crucial point of the game for me. I could have died that year, but Russia took the opportunity to advance on Germany and I somehow managed to regain mainland France by 1911.
Since Italy was still occupied with Turkey, I turned my attention to England. It so happened that England left that year. Too bad, but I wouldn't say it was unfair to grab the opportunity - Russia and Germany were both there and could have taken something, but they decided to kill each other instead.
The long endgame, from 1912 to 1926, was my slow advance from the west. To my credit, I was the only one not to put the "Draw" tag when I still had only 8 units. In other words, the other powers saw that I was going for a solo ever since I got 8 units and still didn't manage to stop me! They never managed to set up strong stalemate lines, so I won. I'm glad that the competition included some much stronger players.
