@JakeBob
I see the reason for posting the pw now, not quite pointless if someone PMs you wanting to join and you're not available to give it to them in time. At least having the password means they'll have come here to read a bit of background regarding the game!
In regards to live discussions, don't head the opposite way and refuse to talk amongst yourselves about diplomacy. That would be awful and lead to bored friends quitting. I play with and without several RL friends here. We like to talk about all the games any of us are in, but we've always respected the rules, and avoided discussion around anonymous games. The intimacy of being able to discuss the happening of a game in person are exciting, you just have to make sure to avoid allying or NOT-allying because of that relationship. It's a fine line, and many struggle to walk on it, but the longer and more invested in the community you and your friends get, the easier it comes.
Also, if you find more RL friends and all have laptops, webDip makes a great alternative to the board game. Wanting to do that is actually how we discovered the site. It doesn't replace the old school, but it definitely adds a very cool twist for all of us that grew up around technology. We'd sit in the apartment typing furiously with global chat being replaced by yelling and laughing.
