Hi Babak!
We're shooting for bi-weekly right now, but we'll see how it goes. I'd love to go to weekly, but I suspect our producer's head might explode if we do. He's doing this for free, on a volunteer basis, and he doesn't even play Diplomacy.
I know you asked for a sort of Table of Contents for the episode before, and I realized I can't really fit it on our home page normally, so, here it is!
Episode 4:
0:03:40 Table Talk -miscellaneous terms
0:17:10 Power Plays, Germany. First we talk about the interactions with your neighbors.
0:53:40 German openings
1:27:55 Interview with Matt Shields, on many different topics
2:02:00 We finally get around to asking Matt about Germany
I actually really like the idea of previewing the interview guests here on the forum, and I'll try to do that in the future. We're planning on deciding who our next guest is tomorrow - I think Ep5 is going to be Turkey, so we just need to decide which of the people we have in the queue would be our best Turkey guest.
As for Episode 4, I think you guys will really like Matt Shields. First of all, he's a terrific player with a really unique style and approach to the game (which we ask him about at length). Specifically, he's (in my opinion) the best player in tournament diplomacy at having disastrous or unusual openings, having 3 or 4 or 5 weird non-adjacent centers, and then somehow having the board exactly where he wants 'em. ;)
He is also involved in tournament Diplomacy in a lot of other ways, from tournament directing, to writing, to hobby administration stuff. We ask him about some of this as well.
Thanks again!
-Eric
