Need to drop out of the Masters tournament

Real life is an issue and I need to reduce my game load. I'm going to try and finish out the League, but I need to drop out of the masters. I'm currently getting my butt kicked in Round 4 because of a couple of NMRs.

Advise for new players.

I believe if the game of Diplomacy grew in popularity then the world would be a better place. Why don't we all just throw together some advise for new players so we can increase the love of Diplomacy.

Gunboat Commendations

While it is discouraged to comment on ungoing gunboats, I must praise the cooperative effort of Austria & Russia in gameID=58974. Clearly they are taking partnership in gunboats to a level seldom seen around WebDip.

my moneys on pakistan. if I had money that is.
I guess since we've been engaging in military conflict in pakistan for awhile now, it wouldnt be the 'next' war, but hey theres always syria. or yemen. oh wait fuck we're in yemen too.

To everybody who left gameID=58907

Please realise that when you leave games, you change the entire balance of the game. It's worse when you leave in a game without messaging. I hope you burn in diplomacy hell.

To those people who joined the game in the middle looking for an easy draw and then left later, I hope you suffer the same fate repeatedly without respite.

I was waiting for Turkey. I had the draw first but once things were going my way I wanted to wait until everyone wanted the Draw. If one person didn't have the vote then I wouldn't either. I think I was really about to control that game as long as you didn't stab to early.

control the game? you would never had gotten beyond a 4way draw with russia and turkey working so closely together, you set us back quite a lot with your stab on me, I only started my aggression once you started to hit belgium.

I would of taken St P in two turns, if you helped which I think you would of because you were definitely going to lose Tunis. after that It would of been just a matter of time when I was in Moscow. or Sevastopol attacking Turkey in the back. then he would move troops back allowing me to use my armies to attack instead of defend.

and allowing you to use your fleets more effectively down south. all in all I think one of us would of won but it doesn't matter cause we voted for the draw.

I thought it was great. I go for the win. And I knew that if France, who already had Tunis, got St P it was just a matter of time before he went for Berlin and Munich to win the game. So I thought that I must weaken him not try an all out war but I needed more troops and I didn't want to rely to heavily on France support only to be stabbed in the end.

I had the perfect opportunity to stab in 05, taking holland via convoy and at the same time taking a chance in munich, leaving me with armies in hol, bel and bur, but I chose not to, since russia and turkey worked too close together - I dont see it as a well played game by you, even though I understand your paranoia.

and if you stabbed me in 05 you wouldn't of got far. I dont think Russia would of attacked me while you were stabbing. Actually I think me and him would of worked together. You wouldn't of got Scandinavia or St P and then you would have Germany Russia and Turkey to fight.

I still wanted to work with you but I needed to not be so reliant on your support and I needed my own SC's. Turkey understood when Russia kept taking his SC he needed other SC's to stop your advancement. Thats what I needed but we were in a different Scenario.

The relationship between Turkey and Russia was a weird one. Some times i thought they were communicating. like in 1902 when he moves to bulgaria to block the austrian fleet but when he is supported into it he quickly leaves.
