Need to drop out of the Masters tournament

Real life is an issue and I need to reduce my game load. I'm going to try and finish out the League, but I need to drop out of the masters. I'm currently getting my butt kicked in Round 4 because of a couple of NMRs.

Advise for new players.

I believe if the game of Diplomacy grew in popularity then the world would be a better place. Why don't we all just throw together some advise for new players so we can increase the love of Diplomacy.

Gunboat Commendations

While it is discouraged to comment on ungoing gunboats, I must praise the cooperative effort of Austria & Russia in gameID=58974. Clearly they are taking partnership in gunboats to a level seldom seen around WebDip.

my moneys on pakistan. if I had money that is.
I guess since we've been engaging in military conflict in pakistan for awhile now, it wouldnt be the 'next' war, but hey theres always syria. or yemen. oh wait fuck we're in yemen too.

To everybody who left gameID=58907

Please realise that when you leave games, you change the entire balance of the game. It's worse when you leave in a game without messaging. I hope you burn in diplomacy hell.

To those people who joined the game in the middle looking for an easy draw and then left later, I hope you suffer the same fate repeatedly without respite.

My first:

I was France. My initial diplomacy was horrendous, and I got gangbanged very soon. I survived, and then a Russian-Austrian alliance was sweeping the board. We set up a line, and I could keep advancing my fleet to Nth and Tys and so forth. In the end, when things started looking good for me, RA threw in the towel.

I probably should have drawn when England CD'd, but if you read the Global tab England had been such an arsehole and he only CD'd because he said I was a cheater...for making an alliance with Russia early on. Apparently in public press you're not allowed to make alliances. I felt I deserved that win too.

It was a World gunboat with few CDs, not all of them to my benefit. It would've been a draw probably but the opposition made suboptimal moves in South America in the end-game which handed me the win.

my very first game of diplomacy was on this site. Paid about 58 dollars for a mangy 2 sc italy. Joined the game and told everyone to be nice to the noob! :)

@Hellenic Riot: points didn't exist back then and indeed the game engine was very different. What you see isn't necessarily what happened, the games have adapted to be viewed in the current engine which sometimes/always creates some funny results.
