also on a side note... WinterBlitz has started!!! I wonder how well or poorly our webdip contingent will do on this diplomatic corp tournament.

@Babak: Thanks for the link! I have already skimmed several interesting and well-written articles, and am currently reading one from the archives by Dirk Fischbach to understand why in the world I never prosper as Turkey.

Are some of these writers hanging around in the upper eschelons of webdiplomacy.net under various pseudonyms, or are the contributors mainly FTF/PBM aficionados?

Ges, that is a great question. I bet if you emailed Doug Kent, the editor, he'd write back and give you a good idea. My guess though is that few if any play on web-based platforms outside of PBEM, because the Web Zines were creations of an era when Judges and PBEM and FtF tournaments were the mainstay of the hobby.

but - I am positive that as our own community develops here, some of our own members will start writing for the Zines and produce great articles - hell we all write SOOOOO much on the forum as it is.

in fact, I think the 'theme' of the next edition (submission deadline April 1st) is supposed to be "Diplomacy in the digital age" so a perfect platform for our folks to share our insights and our thoughts...
