OK, and here we GO!
AFC EAST:
1. Patriots- This shouldn't be too much of a surprise. Brady's back, and even though I do think he's overrated (a great QB, one of the better ones of All-Time, but still below such legends as Montana, Unitas, Vintage Favre, Staubach... I even think Peyton's better) he's still their ticket to another division title (barring another injury, of course.)
2. Miami Dolphins- My, how this team's grown, and grown quickly. Just a couple years ago it went from proud franchise to down in the dumps, and now it's riding the Wildcat back to respectablity.
3. NY Jets- Favre/Mangenius fizzled rather than sizzled, and this team should keep on fizzling for a while to come.
4. Buffalo Bills- I need a job badly, and can throw the ball a bit- and Buffalo'll take anyone at QB about now; Trent Edwards... we'll see, not terrible, but I'm not holding my breath over him...
AFC North:
1. Steelers- They're the Steelers. Enough said.
2. Ravens- This team really has made a believer out of me. Joe Flacco really looks like the real deal, and of course that defense is always punishing... right now Pittsburgh has a virtual lock on the division lead, but if Baltimore keeps on growing as it is, we might be seeing something special in a couple of years... and for now, they're still excellent.
3. Bengals- 85, Houshamazilly, the rest of a good offense... and virtually no defense.
4. Browns- Cincy minus that good offense... not a great believer in this team AT ALL.
AFC South:
1. Colts- They're the Colts, they're in the AFC South- they're the division winners.
2. Texans- Maybe a surprise pick for a few folks here... but yes, I think the Texans, though about a year away from a playoff berth, are ready to take that next step up the ladder.
3. Titans- In my opinion, one of the most overrated offenses, and teams, in the league, and ready for a falling off.
4. Jaguars- Just a couple years ago they were challenging the 07 Patriots in the playoffs... now, they're just a shadow of their former self.
AFC East:
1. Chargers- A great team... and besides, look at the rest of their division...
2. Broncos- Mark my words- Shanahan was ovverated, but they'll be sorry he's gone, and sorry Cutler's gone as well.
3. Raiders- What's Silver and Black and Blue all over? The Raiders after another embarrasing season.
4. Chiefs- A team that needs to really cut all personnel and jsut start fresh, this rebuilding plan has failed...
NFC East:
1. Giants- A lot of folks think this is Philly's division this year, but I'm not falling into that trap. The Giants are a solid team, probably the most consistent team in this division, and they'll weather another tough season and take the division crown.
2. Eagles- I am NOT a Vick fan, in my opinion a good QB, though often a tad overhyped, and then their's the dog-torture thing, which doesn't affect his play... but I just can't help think Vick is a ticking time bomb of controversy and locker-room poison ready to go off. Nevertheless, I don't think it'll stop Philly (THIS season) from a good year
3. Redskins- If Jason Campbell can put it all together, this might be a good sleeper... a good team, but full of questions, and too many to allow me to rank them higher.
4. Cowboys- This is the year, I think, the Dallas bubble finally bursts. Romo's the most overrated QB in the league, and Dallas really hasn't had a feared team since Aikman... more than a decade has gone by since they've actually WON a playoff game, and with all the frustration in Dallas, I see the team finally exploding and rebuilding properly.
NFC North:
1. Vikings- That's right- I'm taking the sucker's pick here. Favre MAY WELL BE about half his former self... but even half of the original legend is enough stability for this already high-octane offense... I just see them beating out the Bears barely.
2. Bears- A great defense as always, but maybe not enough offense...
3. Packers- I've said it before, and will say it again- Aaron Rodgers is a good young QB and the QB of the Pack's future- but letting Favre go will haunt Green Bay for years to come, and now that's he's in their division, playing against them...
4. Lions- They won't go 0-16 again... but they won't win all that much either.
NFC South:
1. Panthers- A slightly overrated team in my opinion- but the pick of a BAD lot here.
2. Falcons- Matt Ryan, a few others... and just not enough to contend for a Wild Card.
3. Saints- The Saints... how two years have really seen them fall apart (again.)
4. Buccanneers- Oh the poor Bucs... I am a HUGE Garcia fan, from his days in SF and really throughout his travels... they should've kept him and Gruden as coach... time for Tampa Bay to rebuild again, I'm afraid.
NFC West:
1. 49ers- Yes, I'm terribly biased here, a diehard 49er fan... but I really DO think that the 49ers will win this division. It's a very weak division, and all that's really stopping the 49ers are two things- the solution at QB and a bit more bite to the offense. I think both have been adressed- Shaun Hill's not flashy, but a very solid and gritty player, almost reminding me of Garcia, and in the ball-controll offense, he'll be fine- and with Glen Coffee, that run attack with Frank Gore just got far better, and if Crabtree will actually sign... oh, my, THEN...
2. Seahawks- A team that I feel is slowly degrading... first Shaun Alexander, now Hasselbeck's really looking older, that D's a bit slower... I see next year as the final collapse, this year maybe 8-8.
3. Cardinals- But obiwanobiwan, didn't they go to the Super Bowl last year? Why yes- and they LOST, and we all know the curse of the Super Bowl Loser. New England? Lost Brady, and the season. Chicago before that? Terrible year. Seahawks before that? Began to break down, and Alexander the Great's greatness ended. And that's just the last three, this almost always happens to the Super Bowl Loser- and seeing as the Cardinals are... well, the Cardinals, you can bett they'll secumb.
4. Rams- I hate the Rams (I'm a 49ers fan, of course I hate them!) but those rivaly years were so great... remember Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, and Torry Holt battling it out with Garcia, Owens, and Tai Streets? Just 5 or so years ago, but it seems like forever... and the Rams are firmly stuck rebuilding for a long time.
