I make mine at 125 (5003 in 40 games), although 3 of these games are currently running and a couple of games are gunboat, so the real figure is maybe slightly higher I guess (maybe about 135ish...) I still have a lot more talking to do to get to 277!

My average is 153 messages per game.

Having taken 1 game off per gunboat, half a game off per public press, and made approximations for the unfinished games I have 151 per game. That does however include some old games with bad habits and it excludes alot of MSN press.

I have 21 normal games (plus 8 gunboats), and posted 757 times (5 normal games are still running). This makes only 36 per game.
And I thought I was chatty ;-)

Exactly 101 now, but out of 53 games I have 2 unfinished, 2 gunboats and 13 cds taken over, so it's hard to tell which the real average is.

1262/13 = ~97, but only 9 were finished, so the actual average is higher.

My average is about 62 posts per game. I'm surprised that, from the responses here, that seems below average - I always thought I was quite talkative!

16190 messages / 205 games finished / ~80 average

Rather low compared to other top players - but I guess with the number of games I'm playing that's all I can afford for chatting. Quantity over quality :)

Mine average over 50 words, I'm sure, because I've posted a fair few 250+ messages in my time.

i have 18533 in 41 talking games as i've only played gunboat twice (six games are currently in progress). a good number of those were CD pickups, but who knows how that affects it.

so that's 452 messages per game on average.

3314 messages / 60 games = 55.233 messages per game.

Two gunboats off the top of my head and god only knows how many public press games on the forum. :-)

Yeah, I almost never say less than 10 words, and I think rarely less than 20.

Well, I normally see myself as talkative, but the average of 55 messages per game seems a bit low. But maybe with only 15 games finished (and 3 of them were gunboats and other 3 were CD pick ups) and 7 games still going on, maybe this average is biased and the real average should be higher.

bent, I nearly mentioned your name in the initial thread since I figured you'd blow everyone out of the water with your talkative ways... Many of my posts are 50 words or more while few are less than 10, at least that's what it seems like... Forgot I've played four or five gunboat games and a public press game that posted on the forum, I feel better now thinking I average over 300 per real game, but still much work is to be done to take down Ms. Bent...

@MM - i think your posts are probably longer on average than mine. and i do like to do lots of little mini messages (like "hey how are things?") in addition to longer ones. plus i always talk about non-game related stuff with people like your tomatoes, jbalcorn's kids, onar's shenanigans, etc.

4625 in 32 games = 144.5 per game. And I like to play gunboats, so the games I'm allowed to talk in are well over 150 per game.

I'm at about 160/game if I exclude gunboat games. I enjoy the games where people are chatty or where there's a decent amount of banter - even if I'm getting my ass handed to me - in them.

Given a bunch of new games, gunboats, public press, forum press, limited press (weird team games) and late cd takeovers (in the early years). I've guesstimating 55 full games, which brings me to 149 messages a game. I'd like to think it is more than that in recent games.

It also depends on who you are playing with. I make a point of replying to all messages, so I get talkative to talkative people. But Akroma's and MadMarx's ratio *speaks* for itself.

djbent is a great player to have a game with, cause the more talking, the better (IMHO).

Me? ~125 a game. And I always think I don't talk with those I attack enough... so I'm working on doing more...

6 currently running... so count them as 0.5 games each = 249/game

rarely under 10 words, often over 200 words per msg... and MM - your avg words per message have to be the record on this site... at least in my experience.

yeah when MM doesn't want to say anything, he doesn't. but when he wants to talk, damn... very long messages.

I'm going to have to agree on MadMarx's posts length. The only short message I ever got from him was "Sorry for the essay I just wrote you, sometimes I just get carried away." Or something to that effect.

I'm always jealous of people who can manage MM-style essays. It's something to strive for, I suppose.

And, when I do have to resort to creative tactics, it's usually due to not being very diplomatic in the first place. Everything has a flipside :)

I am in my first games here. Currently playing 3 and have right now 601 messages.
I'm not done and have already found I like the talkative games much more.
This might sound crazy but it seems an attack is less personal once you get to know someone...

Ivo is the closest i've seen so far, but he has more than twice as many games as me, and is 2,000 messages behind me.

@MM - your post made me think of silver wolf, who i've played in a number of games with, and i know is #13 in points and maybe 6 or 4 or something in G-rating. i know he plays lots of PPSC games with new players, which in part accounts for his remarkable statistics, but he does have 102 games (incl current i guess) and only 7700 or so game messages. that's about 75 messages a game, and yet he has an extremely impressive record.

And wow djbent, you're a chatterbox. I thought there was a pattern in skill when MM and Akroma both came out with 200+ messages a game, but if there's any pattern you must be at least twice as good. =)
