PPSC Points Distribution

With regards to this game: gameID=142343

The pot was 175

. Germany won with 22 of 34 SCs, so by my calculations Germany should win ( 22 / 34 ) * 175 = 113

, but Germany only won 105

(which is 60%, exactly, of the pool). Similarly, Turkey finished with 9 of 34 SCs, so Turkey should win ( 9 / 34 ) * 175 = 46

, but won 53

. What gives?

Looking to start a high pot full press game

I want to start a new full press WTA game. Ideally, phases would be two days and the bet would be 150 or 200

. This game would have a policy of drawing in the case of a 1901 CD. Any interest?

Pausing a Game and a player (or two) is missing

We wish to pause a game but two people are not online to pause the game which is part of the reason we want to pause it in the first place. Is there a way to pause it so we can start the game with everybody present?

Thanks to the US Coast Guard......

....for responding to the British public and continuing the search for the missing yacht, it now appears that the yacht has been found, life raft was not deployed and the men were lost at sea. This is not what the families wanted to hear but it brings some closure to this sad and tragic event.

Different Phase lengths

Would anyone else like to have the option to make the diplomacy phase a different length of time to building and retreating phases?

For example:

Diplomacy phase: 10 min; Building/Retreat phase: 5 min

Or even better in my opinion would be to have build 7.5 min and build/retreat 2.5 min

It's been suggested, but I don't believe the current code allows for it.

While this would be a nice feature, I don't see it being added any time soon.

I have found, however, that if you start a game with all 7 players agreeing to quickly ready up on builds/retreats, the game progresses much faster.

I'm not familiar with the codebase. But even if someone made it, Kestas (webDip owner) is slow to implement new features until they've had a thorough testing process at vDip

I like it. It certainly isn't impossible - vDip just added a way to not process games on certain days of the week.

But if a player is away, doesn't that mean he would miss that phase with your idea? Probably not the best scenario.

Capt. Sparrow,

I rather like your idea. Between you and me, if I could institute one change, and one change only, that affected the phase processing ability of the PHPDiplomacy software, I would want software that could allow the games to start at a specified time, rather that simply starting *after* a specified volume of time.

For example, if I want a game to start at 11 AM Saturday, the current software has a rather limited ability to support this sort of request.

But your idea is pretty good, too.

If you want a game to start at 11 AM Saturday, host it at 11 AM a few days before with X days to start.

this game is for people who play regularly and will try and avoid slowing down the play. It is set for one day phases but we expect people to ready up whenever possible.
