PPSC Points Distribution
With regards to this game: gameID=142343

The pot was 175 D. Germany won with 22 of 34 SCs, so by my calculations Germany should win ( 22 / 34 ) * 175 = 113 D, but Germany only won 105 D (which is 60%, exactly, of the pool). Similarly, Turkey finished with 9 of 34 SCs, so Turkey should win ( 9 / 34 ) * 175 = 46 D, but won 53 D. What gives?

Looking to start a high pot full press game
I want to start a new full press WTA game. Ideally, phases would be two days and the bet would be 150 or 200 D. This game would have a policy of drawing in the case of a 1901 CD. Any interest?

Pausing a Game and a player (or two) is missing
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=142341#gamePanel

We wish to pause a game but two people are not online to pause the game which is part of the reason we want to pause it in the first place. Is there a way to pause it so we can start the game with everybody present?

Thanks to the US Coast Guard......
....for responding to the British public and continuing the search for the missing yacht, it now appears that the yacht has been found, life raft was not deployed and the men were lost at sea. This is not what the families wanted to hear but it brings some closure to this sad and tragic event.

Daily Inspirational Quotes
I started this project on another forum a couple days ago and I figured y'all might appreciate this. I've been making some major personal changes over the past few months, and it's pretty dramatically improved my outlook on life in general. I'm going to post a quote that I think is emotionally or intellectually inspirational with a little blurb about what it means to me. Whether with your own quote or talking about one of mine, feel free to join in the conversation!

How moronic do you need to be to join an organisation that does this sort of thing......
Theodosius (232 D(S))

The same way any cult gets followers. It's the same as any other sales pitch, convincing you that you have no choice. e.g.

1) Are you a follower of Islam? No really, are you?
2) Islam mandates that you live under Sharia law under Islamic rule.
3) Islamic governments have only come into force by force.
4) So are you really a follower of Islam? Because, logically, therefore you need to use force to bring about the Islamic revolution.

This is from an Al-Qaeda propaganda pamphlet, except that they were a bit more convincing and brought in wrongs that the West have done as well, to make it righteous.

Once you accept that the cause is bigger and more important than you are, goodbye humanity.

You can see this sort of thing all through history for any kind of cause and, unfortunately, still carrying on.

Nigeria's national government is not much better than the Boko Haram insurgents. Please, for the sake of preventing another Rwanda, don't let that fact slip under the radar...
Randomizer (722 D)

There is no shortage of morons. Maybe literate morons that can read the pamphlets, but technology now has video and audio recordings to get around that problem. Plus they can be uploaded to YouTube and other sites so propaganda is only an Internet connection away to convince morons to join.

Our country isn't much better where Republican Arizona Representatives appear on stage at anti-immigration rallies with neo-Nazi child molesters. All it takes is something they agree on to get into bed for the overall cause.

Ummm, no, Boko Haram is far worse than the worst Republican out there, Randomizer.
Tolstoy (1962 D)

"Boko Haram is far worse than the worst Republican out there,"

Not so sure about that. Dubya had BH beat on overall body count, number of maimings, and money stolen ("taxed") from productive people during his reign by several orders of magnitude. His minions probably kidnapped more people, too - absolutely the case if you consider imprisonment for victimless "crimes" to be kidnapping.

I am reminded of the pirate's response to Alexander of Macedon; when asked how he dared to pillage and plunder on the high seas, the pirate replied that Alexander did the same, but because the pirate did it with one ship was called a criminal, but since Alexander did it with a might fleet was called an emperor.

Tolstoy, Republicans aren't terrorists. If you're going to put body count on US government officials, that goes on the US government.

Please provide examples of these so called "victimless" crimes so I might show you who the victim was.

Funny how Bush is the bad guy, but Obama hasn't closed Gitmo, and he is now Lord Emporer of the weaponized drone army slaughtering innocents at an alarming rate...but hacks like Tolstoy won't mention that...

"I'm waiting for him to claim that there are no victims in plotting terrorist attacks that we stop. At that I'll just laugh and ignore his ass as a moron."

Tolstoy and friends have no problem with an American having his life ruined for uttering an unsvory word or having an ill-regarding opinion, maybe even a racist opinion...but yes, plotting terrorist attacks is victimless. Libtardism at its finest.
