Why did this fail?
I had MAO to Spain SC with Gas support. Turkey had West Med to Spain with no support. no one broke Gas support. MAO should have taken Spain SC!

A chance to prove your Diplomatic genius
We need another replacement Argentina after the previous two Argentinas have both been banned. The position appears weak but has great potential if you play your cards right:

Odd Question
Generally to the mod/admin .. is there any specific reason other than general humility that there is no public record of banned players? Whenever I'm looking for games to join through a CD, some of the best games are from banned players, and if there were a way to find a newly banned player without hearing about it or seeing it would probably salvage a lot of wrecked games.

Enough trivial topics, time for serious talk
In LotR: Fellowship, at the Counsel of Elrond, Frodo takes the responsibility of bearing the Ring. In rewatching the film this past weekend, I got the distinct impression this may have been due to the Ring already "poisoning" Frodo a little bit so that he was the Ring's choice of bearer. When I checked the book, it doesn't read like that explicitly, but I think that interpretation may still exist. Thoughts?

"Also, Faramir rejected the One Ring in the books. It's one of the reasons I dislike the movies some."

Not a huge LOTR fan (never read the books, enjoyed the films but wasn't crazy about them), but I thought Faramir deciding to take the ring (and the hobbitses) back to Gondor was one of the most interesting plot twists in the films. It made so much sense from Faramir's perspective I think it would've been silly if he hadn't.
dipplayer2004 (1310 D)

Faramir was the good brother, as compared to Boromir. He was supposed to be more noble, more like the "men of old." The movie ultimately did portray that, but with some added material that IMO did not make sense--Sauron would have known the Ring was there near Minas Tirith, with a hobbit, as opposed to thinking that Aragorn had it, which was key to the big diversionary move they make at the end of ROTK. But I suppose Jackson felt he had to give the Sam/Frodo storyline some danger too.

@Dipplayer Exactly. I felt Boromir was there to show the failings of man in a way and Faramir showed the noblity and goodness of man. It's like the Battle of Helm's Deep. The elves never come in the books iirc. It's suppose to be a finally stand for man and having the elves come kinda ruins the message that battle had.

Oh and for the real Tolkien nerds... I've been trying to talk my husband into writing me a message in Tengwar (he does know how to write it) so I can get that as a tattoo. No luck yet since he doesn't want me getting a tattoo.

And in the book, there were approximately 2000 Rohirrim at Helm's Deep: 1000 were the original garrison, another 1000 came in with Theoden. The heorn and the Rangers arrived with Gandalf.

Why no skydiving, out of interest?

Also, there were plenty of trees, were there not? Didn't they loom in the background and in the morning there were a lot less orcs than there used to be? It's been a while since I read it...
Celticfox (100 D(B))
19 Dec 12 UTC
Cause I don't really feel 100% comfortable with him doing it. So it's a fair deal he doesn't want me getting a tattoo fine then he can't go skydiving. One is my thing the other his.

Epic World Game?
Hey, I tried to get an epic world game together called: gameID=106273. I've only got three guys up for it. I was wondering either if you'd like to join that game or could give me suggestions of a new game I could make that you would be happy to join. Bear in mind it has to be world and with a pot size of a minimum of 1700 D, ppsc, phase length of at least one day, to start after Christmas. Besides that I'm not bothered. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This could be really epic.

Stupid rules question
Austria has a fleet in Greece and a fleet in the Aegean, and uses Greece s. Aegean -> Ionian. Italy has a fleet in the Ionian, and an army in Naples, and uses Ionian to convoy Naples -> Greece. What's the end result of this set of moves?
