The only exceptions to not being able to swap places between two units are if one or more convoys are involved. See the summary of the rules on page 23 here:

Regarding the posting of the game link, that was just so people could check the orders themselves so they could see that I placed them correctly. I've been away from the site for a while, this didn't used to be frowned upon, but thanks for educating me on the new etiquette guidelines.

It just came up the other day from a mod and was new to me too. So don't feel bad. I still thank the other mod was wrong as it has *always* been acceptable in the past to include the link inc ase a misorder was mode so long as no one commented, but I guess the new modstapo (aka the modfia and the SmodS) have other views.

philcore: I was also under the impression that posting the link to a live game you were in was alright as long as it wasn't anonymous. Even if it was anonymous, I still thought it was alright if the poster took precautions to disguise his or her identity. But you're right, I also thought that the only thing which wasn't allowed was commenting on ongoing games. I'm not sure if Draugnar is right.

Asking for and giving advice about a live game has always been frowned upon, but I can click the link to any user id and watch any live game you happen to be in. And if anyone asked a question about orders, the first thing I'd check is that they placed them correctly. I'd be annoyed if they didn't include the game if because I'd have to figure out which of their games they were referring to.

I totally get the anonymous game rule though, because the point is anonymity.

@draug - in this age of smart phones, blame your typos on autocorrect ;-)

I can understand it on live games or anon ones, but regular paced non-anon can be useful to have the game id to point out why things failed so lpng as the future of the ge is not discussed.

I think it is rude to the other people you are playing against to get specific advice on what to do. (they are playing you not the collective wisdom of the forum)

Clarification like this is not a problem, (as draug said, he thinks i was wrong) To be safe there is no reason why you couldn't describe the scenario.

In this case spain is one territory; i've made this mistake once, so i know the feeling.

I also always want to just "move around" between Spain NC, Port and Spain SC. It just seems so reaonable to move from NC to Port, and Port to SC. Visually it doesn't look like a conflict. I'm sure I've had this fail before too, but just assumed it was due to a conflict with the other player. The only reason I questioned it this time is because I knew I had 2 against one.

I'll definitely have to remember this.

So ora, if what the user presents as having been.the orders and the adjudicated outcome don't match, is it then OK to ask for a game ID with the understanding we just want to check.orders? Seriously, it hasn't been a problem until your recent post in the past as long as we don't comment on future plans.
