I am 16 and live in Indiana, where, in a general sense, most people are against pot use. I have never smoked, though I know plenty of people that have and I've been around them while they are doing it. I've been a proponent of legalization for a long time, though I certainly don't want marijuana to be used as a bridge to legalize other drugs. Without adding my stories since nobody cares, I have seen people on just about everything, and pot is much, much less dangerous than mushrooms, for example. I know this, and I don't want pot to lead to more legalization.
However, I want pot legalized because tobacco is legal and tobacco has been shown to have much more lethal and harmful effects than marijuana use. I am the "screw industry" type when it comes to tobacco - if it's more dangerous than pot, which in the long term it is, then it should be just as illegal as pot is. Otherwise, pot should be legal.
So, if anyone's actually read this far, what do you think? This isn't about whether or not pot is good or not but whether - based on the votes in Colorado and Washington - it should be legalized. If you have anything constructive - i.e not attacking me - please discuss.
