Replacement needed!
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=87273#gamePanel

Austria was banned for multi. Would be great if someone replace him. The positio is definitely playable and would really help balance out the game. Anybody would be greatly appreciated!

Playing Italy
I am not looking for specific advise, as I don´t play Italy at the moment. But I realized the other day that it is an interesting country to play. Quite weak, but interesting. If you back the wrong horse, you´re screwed. What, in your opinion, are the most enterprising tactics with Italy?

Process cycle
Can't find it in the FAQ, so I post it here. I just joined a live game, which I rarely do. Now it says: "7 players joined; game will start on next process cycle". How do I know when it starts? When is this next process cycle?

I was Turkey, and played a more patient turkey than usual. I tend to go ful attack mode when Turkey, but I end up losing 99% of the time, so I sat back a little, and tried to let things develop.

First, I got black sea and armenia both in S 01 Russia gave he a distinct advantage there, and even though he played very well, I exploited the black sea a lot.

Italy went after Austria fast also. This helped me a lot, as I wanted to keep the peace with Austria long enough for me to get get into Rumania and sevastopol.

Italy was all over the place, first austria, then ran a fleet MY way (eastern med) tokok a shot at france (sorta). however, he did keep the Austria very occupied.

I eventually got into romania and sevastopol, and built another army (still just the black sea fleet and aegean)) and I think it gave Austria a false sense of security as he left greece and serbia after watching me support him to hld in serbia and greece for a few turns.

i could not believe my luck, and with an army also in constan, took both greece and serbia in the following year. This pretty much ended anything Austria had going, even though he had taken all of Italy, all his home centers were filled, and he could not build.

Germany in the north was wrecking france and to a lesser degree England, BUT, England and France could not stop fighting each other either. It was rather nice to watch them all 3 fight, but eventually, Germany got the upper hand, and had pushed France down to Marseilles.spain portugal, and then I took Munich from him.

The Germany player left, but a new one came in after 1 missed turn, and tried to rally things, and I was about to hit draw.

England however, kept attacking Germany and Russia. heck, he never even hit draw.
France went AWOL also, which had little effect on the real outcome, since once England took STP from Russia, the stalemate line collapsed, and he lost warsaw and moscow also the following turn.

It was one of my better games as Turkey , but the play of Austria and England was questionable at best.
Nope, it didn't give me a false sense of security, but there really wasn't a way to deal with both you and Italy at the same time. I took a shot on the idea that you might want an alliance, saw you building armies, knew it wasn't meant to be, and decided to make sure that Italy died first.

Italy was playing pretty bad too...
Also, after I declined Russia's offer of support to Rumania twice, he decided to help you kill me. I declined his offer because I wasn't going to take it anyway, so there was no point in gratuitously pissing you off.

So, basically, you deccided that "If I am not going to win it, neither will italy" fair enough.

I have been there countless times...lol

Russia also seemed to play bad...
More or less. Had I been able to come to common cause with Russia in time, maybe we could have contained you. But I rode the horse of a potential AT as long as possible, and then, when I got off it because of your army build after you took Sevastopol, russia'd pretty much decided he was sick of trying to be my friend. And I can't blame him; he opened up pro-Austrian and made every signal he could that he wanted to be friends for about 5 years, all of which I ignored to deal with Italy and because I was too busy sending out signals that I wanted to be your friend.

I was your friend, until it was not longer required...lol

I really did not even look at Austria for a long time, as I was trying to secure sevastopol and romania.

Italy was really making life easy for me though, by attacking you so much.

Austria was trying to come to a common cause with Russia??!! You've got to be kidding me. I was trying to help you the entire game, and you just kept pissing on me.

I attacked Turkey, you took Warsaw. I kept supporting you to Rumania and you kept declining. When you attacked Italy after he had obviously called off his attack on you in order to fight the growing Germany, and you kept ignoring Turkey (the other growing power to worry about) I finally decided enough was enough, and just decided there was no good to be had by trying to help you, and tried throwing in my lot with Turkey.

YOU KNOW cpseiker, when I supported you into vienna, and then you built that army and moveddirectly into Ukraine from Moscow, I was going to make you the ally, but your move to ukraine is what forced me to attack vienna finally.

At that point I was not considering a solo at all, as I thought the German had the better chance at it, and was willing to at least set up a stalemate like with you while I finished off the Austrian.

I honestly thought you would take the offer.
cspieker (18223 D)
16 May 12 UTC
I guess that was a chance lost for me then. If I were you I would have totally gone for the solo at that point. That's why I did what I did.

If Germany wouldn't have had to bail, we might have been able to set up a stalemate ( and if England understood the game a little better).
Yes, cspieker, that's basically what I said. Although I don't see the point where Italy obviously called off his attack on Austria in favor of moving against Germany, or how his builds and destroys would support such a thesis, before Turkey moved against me.

Ithink with Germany and England on board, you 100% woudl have set up a stalemate on me.

Germany was a little light on the armies for sure,. but there is only so much you need to defend.

England was really the one that killed it.

Spring 1905: Italy moved out of Venice to set up on Munich. He left Venice open in hopes that you would understand the time had come to fight Turkey. Seemed pretty obvious to me. Next move Italy attacks Germany and you move into Venice, basically dooming us all (except Turkey!).
They both kept attacking me, and didn't even try to keep Turkey off until it was too late. Why would I support pointless efforts, after they spoiled my game earlier?
cspieker (18223 D)
16 May 12 UTC
In order to draw instead of lose. That might be a reason.
If it was possible, sure. But Germany kept on attacking me and France, instead of moving forces to central Europe and fleets westwards. Do you think he even tried something against Turkey before 1911?
cspieker (18223 D)
16 May 12 UTC
Yes I agree that France seemed pretty aimless. Germany was attacking you I agree, but he did stop attacking you when we were trying to stop Turkey. I know it is tough to notice that stuff when you are busy defending yourself, but it's good to note the minute someone gets 12 or move centers. Then it is time to patch up differences and kill the leader.
He stopped attacking me by missing a phase.
cspieker (18223 D)
16 May 12 UTC
OK whatever, play to lose. That's cool.

Or you could have laid off of him. If he took a center, he was going to need them to build armies against Turkey. You had no chance of winning the game, and no chance of being defeated. You can give up a center or two. Focus on moving down to Iberia to stop Turkey there. That's what I would have done. But if you are worried about a center or two of your own when Turkey (entirely on the other side of the board) is getting to 16, then fine, make sure you hold Sweden!
Thanks for the tip, but I would not play for draw even, if I had the chance to change it.

OK, that's it--Kicking out Mexicans, banning ethnic literature, discussing a bill to fire women who take contraceptives, and now...a team forfeiting a baseball game rather than play a team with a girl because "the sexes should be educated separately." OK, that's it, Arizona--I officially give up on you as a state. Mexico--you can have it back!

Should I be suspicious?
Both of the last 2 games I have joined in the past week filled their remaining spots within minutes. In one of the games three 'players' joined the exact same minute and in the other at least three joined within a few minutes of each other. I am not accusing anyone, I am not going to mention the name of the games, but it sure seems likely this is the same person with multiple accounts. I want to exit the games, but I don't want to just sacrifice my points. What is my recourse?
