WE STAAAAAAAAAAACKED
Going against the best team in the NFL and holding them to only one touchdown. Rodgers can run for 1st downs all day, since we love tackling him with big hits.

Sick of the Liars!
Ok, so I've just inflamed half a dozen trolls who are reading this this morning. Going to enjoy hearing from them all day. But it isn't the trolls that have me down. It is the liars!

Great American Political Quotes
Europe is so different than America that European political philosophy has little relevance in the United States. (2012 should keep it that way as well).
I dedicate this thread to American political quotes.

I understand why the mods locked the thread, but it's still possible to answer the user's question without violating site rules. I'm not going to refer to the game in question, or even link to it.

Check out this guy - Machiavelli is right
gameID=77832

In a 5 minute live game, Turkey, Russia, and England don't show up. I (playing France) move immediately to Cancel and Austria, some guy named Octopus_seppuku, refuses and quite obviously wins due to the Balkans, Turkey and Russia being uncontested. I just find that very poor sportsmanship and not in the spirit of the game. I guess he needed to pad his rating or something. How utterly base and sad.

Arizona Bans Mexican/Native-American Texts From Classes, Including...Shakespeare?!
http://www.salon.com/2012/01/13/whos_afraid_of_the_tempest/singleton/
In a meeting this week, administrators informed Mexican-American studies teachers to stay away from any units where “race, ethnicity and oppression are central themes,” including the teaching of Shakespeare’s classic ["The Tempest"] in Mexican-American literature courses.
1. What is up with Arizona's Latino-phobia, and 2. Really...Shakespeare banned as Latino Lit? O.O

Newbie question
I'm new to the site and am looking at "Bye, Points" active game. Says no in game messaging, anomymous players. Yet I see Italy supporting Austria and another cooperation later in the game. How does this happen? Doen't look like a lucky guess to me

Issues with the site
I had a misorder last night that I'd confirmed about 5 times and now I can see all of TC's threads even though he's muted. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this since I'm assuming this is a problem with my browser and not with the site?
carpenter (645 D)

If this is true, then I think you've been hacked, unmuting other persons is not influenced by your browser, since it needs to be modified in the "Settings"-menu (which is then saved in an encrypted database etc etc., not in your browser). I'm quite sure it's not your browser.
Other possibilities are: you logged in once on a public computer and accepted the cookie or saved your password for this site, or your computer is hacked or your computer has a key-logger. In the last two cases, changed moves should be the least of your concerns.
So it's either of the above or the mods unmuted persons for you and changed your orders (but as far as I know this is impossible due to the design of this site). But in that case I presume they would have notified you by email.
I'm at least interested in a short summary or conclusion of what has happened by the mods/admins, if this story turns out to be true.

Pretty sure it's an issue with the javascript, but I'm not sure how to fix it, using chrome.
orathaic (1009 D(B))

muting TC works fine for me, i'm using chrome on and off with firefox in between. There shouldn't be any major issues with javascript unless you messed with chrome settings (you should be able to disable javascript in chrome but i don't know why you would want to.)

Can you please be more specific:

What version of Chrome? What OS? Did you finalize your moves? Do you typically log into webDip from more than one location?

Yeah Thucy, I don't really care about the messed up moves, but seeing posts by TC was horrifying, I appreciate the condolences, haha

@abge, 2 main locations: home, school.

Google Chrome 16.0.912.75 (Official Build 116452) m
OS Windows 7
JavaScript V8 3.6.6.15
No I didn't finalize the moves, but I also didn't change them once I double checked them. The timing on messages between myself and another country was off by about 10 minutes. I can message you the game if that would help. So far it's only this site that I'm having any problems with which is why I'm a bit confused. I'm sitting a second account right now using firefox with no problems.
abgemacht (1076 D(G))
12 Jan 12 UTC
Yeah, can you send us an email with the game and that info?

Not sure there's much we can do, but at the very least I'll let Kestas know.

Could it be the difference between http://wedip and http://www.webdip?
I know they are separate cookies, so you have to log into each...

@FK

But why should that matter? Both direct to the same IP, so as long as the server is receiving his requests, it shouldn't matter. What this seems to me is some problem on the Client Side that is cutting off packets to the server somehow.

@JMO:

remember in Deadzone how we both had a misorder during the same phase and we were both claiming it was a bug? I wonder if it's the same thing...
jmo1121109 (3812 D)
15 Jan 12 UTC
I do, I sent an email to the mods then too, but was blown off by Geofram.
Cachimbo (1181 D)
15 Jan 12 UTC
If it means anything, I'm on chrome too...

Wonder if the first comment wasn't on the right track: maybe some bored player is hacking into various profiles, changing moves.

It Happened in 1912...Will Another GOP 7-10 Split Help Obama Win like Wilson in 1912?
Everyone knows the story--William Howard Taft got the GOP nomination in 1912 (more due to Taft's being friends and more laissez-faire than actual popularity in regards to the powers that be than TR) but Teddy Roosevelt still had so much solo-name-starpower he became the most successful 3rd party candidate ever...but BOTH LOST to some fellow the Democrats ran by the name of Woodrow Wilson, due in large part to a split GOP vote. Do you think Romney/RP/Obama=Roosevelt/Taft/Wilson, 2012=1912?
