WE STAAAAAAAAAAACKED
Going against the best team in the NFL and holding them to only one touchdown. Rodgers can run for 1st downs all day, since we love tackling him with big hits.

Sick of the Liars!
Ok, so I've just inflamed half a dozen trolls who are reading this this morning. Going to enjoy hearing from them all day. But it isn't the trolls that have me down. It is the liars!

Great American Political Quotes
Europe is so different than America that European political philosophy has little relevance in the United States. (2012 should keep it that way as well).
I dedicate this thread to American political quotes.

I understand why the mods locked the thread, but it's still possible to answer the user's question without violating site rules. I'm not going to refer to the game in question, or even link to it.

Check out this guy - Machiavelli is right
gameID=77832

In a 5 minute live game, Turkey, Russia, and England don't show up. I (playing France) move immediately to Cancel and Austria, some guy named Octopus_seppuku, refuses and quite obviously wins due to the Balkans, Turkey and Russia being uncontested. I just find that very poor sportsmanship and not in the spirit of the game. I guess he needed to pad his rating or something. How utterly base and sad.

Arizona Bans Mexican/Native-American Texts From Classes, Including...Shakespeare?!
http://www.salon.com/2012/01/13/whos_afraid_of_the_tempest/singleton/
In a meeting this week, administrators informed Mexican-American studies teachers to stay away from any units where “race, ethnicity and oppression are central themes,” including the teaching of Shakespeare’s classic ["The Tempest"] in Mexican-American literature courses.
1. What is up with Arizona's Latino-phobia, and 2. Really...Shakespeare banned as Latino Lit? O.O

Newbie question
I'm new to the site and am looking at "Bye, Points" active game. Says no in game messaging, anomymous players. Yet I see Italy supporting Austria and another cooperation later in the game. How does this happen? Doen't look like a lucky guess to me

Hey I had it 5 times in a row remember that!
Well, there was the debacle that was the BCS Championship Game on Monday, and then the 49ers are... okay, not REALLY crimson, but red, so they count too and fuck everything about Alex Smith to Vernon Davis

"fuck everything about Alex Smith to Vernon Davis"

Which time? hahaha. Vernon was an absolute BEAST out there today.
That we have to ask which time probably illustrates the point perfectly
Skittles (1014 D)

Indeed. I was rooting for the 49ers for a number of reasons (mostly because I'm a Bucs fan so I have a natural distaste for the Saints), but as a generally neutral observer, this was an absolutely fantastic game to watch.

Also, being a Bucs fan, I have felt a lot of pain over this and many other seasons. Perspective.
Perspective? Man, Saints were the laughingstock of the NFL until 2006. I'm going to milk the good times while they're still rolling. I'll come back down to Earth when the Saints fall back into football hell.
TheJok3r (765 D)

Haha. Agreed. I remember growing up and the Saints were never a contender. And here they are a perennial Super Bowl contender. Yesterday was just a great game between two great teams. They definitely have no reason to be ashamed.

And lord have mercy on Austria in your next game Eden.

I'm a Lions and Bills fan. The Saints and 49ers both fill me with the hope that one day both franchises will be great again.

I think the Lions are about to to be perennial playoff team, so there's that. But consider this. The Lions have been in the NFL forever, and today, it's possible that they might once again be the sole possessor of last place in "playoff games won since the merger."

So, I mean, I feel the pain of Saints fans, just be happy they had a really good game yesterday. Probably the best of the playoffs so far.
CLICK CLACK
There is a problem with the Lions being perennially in the playoffs, SD. The road to the Division Championship goes through Green Bay. Defending champion and still the third youngest team in the NFL Green Bay. So, good luck with that. I'll be busily enjoying the dynasty.

I was Austria in 3 high point games. Nothing like reading this and praying PE isn't in the game. LOL
SacredDigits (102 D)

Oh, I forgot, Bob. There's no path to the playoffs beyond winning the division. Somebody notify last year's Packers.

The Packers are good, but I'm not sure they're going all the way again. They failed to win all the games they were expected to win, which is a bad sign. They won some that they were expected to compete in that could have gone either way (Saints, for example), but losing to as bad a team as the Chiefs is a bad sign. The Giants took them down to the wire in the regular season, I think they might be able to pull something off.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to be rooting for the Packers, I like seeing the NFC North doing well, but I'm really not sure they'll repeat. I have more faith in the Patriots getting to the dance (and I hate the Patriots).

I had a misorder last night that I'd confirmed about 5 times and now I can see all of TC's threads even though he's muted. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this since I'm assuming this is a problem with my browser and not with the site?

It Happened in 1912...Will Another GOP 7-10 Split Help Obama Win like Wilson in 1912?
Everyone knows the story--William Howard Taft got the GOP nomination in 1912 (more due to Taft's being friends and more laissez-faire than actual popularity in regards to the powers that be than TR) but Teddy Roosevelt still had so much solo-name-starpower he became the most successful 3rd party candidate ever...but BOTH LOST to some fellow the Democrats ran by the name of Woodrow Wilson, due in large part to a split GOP vote. Do you think Romney/RP/Obama=Roosevelt/Taft/Wilson, 2012=1912?
