Who seems to play a lot of games with Friends. I believe they are different people but always seem to work together. Not going to post the people, I just want to know if there can be anything done. If people just work together in every game then that screws over everyone else.

Live Gunboat-106 EOG
By Germany. My first EOG. Be gentle.

01: Uhhh, I dislike being Germany in gunboat. I haven’t done well as Germany. Well, I’m going to try to befriend France and hope he understands supports and orders.
Supported France into Bur. Will support Burgundy in holding. Turkey has already NMR and Italy wants to cancel. Damn noobs.

Turkey CDed. I really hate CD games. I’m going to vote draw/cancel.

02: Going to try to maintain an alliance with France and go after Russia while France goes after England (so I hope).
Going to grab Warsaw and maybe Sweden.

Whoo, got Warsaw and Sweden. Gonna build a fleet to destroy England and an army in case France decides I was easy meat.
Hopefully the damn Turk will get defeated.
Austria is starting to get big. I hope he goes after Italy and not me.

03: France built a fleet in Brest. That’s potentially good for me since he’s not coming after me right away. Russia destroyed his army in Gal, which means I can move against him to try to take Moscow. Going to force myself into Heligo and then the North Sea.
Italy is Lepantoing and that means Turkey is dead. Let’s hope he’ll start fighting Austria. 

Damn it. Austria’s smart. He’s moving after me. Well, let’s hope Burgundy defends Munich…
Well, Austria is going to take Berlin for sure. Damn.

04: Going to try something crazy to let Riphen survives in Norway, and have a way to build in Kiel. We’ll see.
France betrayed me and took Hol. The bastard. Doesn’t he see I’m trying to work against Austria. The idiot.

05: Going to attack Mos and trying to put myself in Kiel. There’s not much else to do but hope for a draw here I think. Austria has grown fat and big. Probably part my fault.
I might have to take Riphen out in Norway. 

Unfortunately, I’m going to have to take Riphen out and get myself into StP to establish a stalemate. I think I also have Berlin and Kiel locked up. So if France and Italy can work something out or a force a stalemate there, that would be great. And oh, England needs to go.

I hate Germany…

06: Got a build in Kiel. Should be able to defend pretty well. Let’s hope I can get a piece of England. France has gone NMR. Yay. Not really….

07: Going to try to take Edin. Then England is gone and hopefully I’ll be included in the 3 or 4 way draw. Italy better fucking play nice. Austria, you’re an ass.

08: France has been reincarnated by Eden. And England is dead and we drew. I hate Germany and CDs, although German CDs are pretty good.

Spring 1901
So I draw Austria. No problem. Great Turkey NMRs. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Autumn 1901
Trying to make sure Italy is my friend and will get 2 builds to take on Russia if we don’t cancel.
Winter 1901
WTF! Turkey is back. Great, now have to rethink. I hope Italy plays nice.
Spring 1902
We’ll see if Italy is going Lepanto and if Turkey comes back. I hope to get Rum this turn. Looks like Turkey is sitting out. The more I think about it the more I believe Italy is coming my way. I wonder if Turkey is someone’s multi.
Autumn 1902
OK, got Rum. Going for Bul and Sev. I hope to get at least 2 builds. We’ll see if Italy keeps playing nice. Great, Turkey NOW has orders in. This may screw up my Italian alliance.
Winter 1902
Woohoo. Now to keep up the pressure on Russia and let Italy have Turkey.
Spring 1903
Helping Italy and worrying about Germany. Moving to prevent Tyr from becoming German. Hope Italy sees the importance.
Retreats
It looks like Italy and I are on the same page.
Autumn 1903
Supporting him to Con so he can get 2 builds. Have to count on Turkey moving to Sev and bouncing with me. Don’t like playing chicken with Russia over Bul.
Retreats
OK I can do that. I’ll take Ukr. Looking like a FG/AI duo. Wonder if all 4 will draw.
Builds
I hate having 3 builds. I hope it doesn’t change things between me and Italy.
Spring 1904.
Trying to get Mos and Mun this year.
Autumn 1904
That went well. If Russia does nothing. I can hold my gains. I am trying to cut Bur support so Italy can get MAR. Come on little buddy. You and me and 1 other for a 3 way draw.
Retreats
Woohoo! You go little buddy. Now that I am super huge I hope we can still work together.
Builds
Armies of course. In the spring I’ll move to position myself to support Italy to Ank.

Spring 1905
No need. I hope France can help off the English and help with the German so we can draw.
Spring 1906
Ooops. I’ve been tuned out. OK. We need someone to rid us of the English man. Then I can draw.
Autumn 1906
Damn, just as I hit draw, France shows back up. GRRRRR. Hoping I can just stay at what I’m at until either France of England goes.

Spring 1907
Just waiting for 1 to get offed so I can draw.
HURR DURR BORED GONNA BUY IN AS FRANCE

Suicide your fleets into Germany. What the hell?
Good thing I had Edin going to North Sea.
Well yeah. And I was actually moving Bre -> ENG -> Lon so I could support myself to NS. You couldn't cover everything and I wouldn't lose everything -- I'd be able to pick up enough centers to sustain myself.

But don't get mad at me -- blame Italy, who had actively been trying to kill me despite my work to KO England and signal that I was willing to help hold the line.
zultar (4180 DMod(P))
05 Jul 11 UTC
Yeah. I thought you might something ridiculous like that to keep yourself alive. Well, I would have given you Edin and Denmark. That's no problem.
Dan should have responded a bit quicker. If he wasn't going to backstab Austria for the solo, he should have just stayed.
DanEcht (100 D)
05 Jul 11 UTC
Hey...don't blame Italy. That's cold. Italy can't read those signals when Italy is preoccupied with driving France out of France proper.
zultar (4180 DMod(P))
05 Jul 11 UTC
Hummmm, look askance at Italy and tsk. Tsk tsk tsk.
...if you'd opened the big map, you'd have seen I was signaling Germany to attack Munich and support holds in MAO... both of the units doing it were in France proper so, as part of your attack, I actually figured you would check the signs and decide from there. I also figured that since Italy was voting draw that he wanted the 3-way AIG, so I was going to go blitzkrieg into Scandinavia and hold the keys into Germany and St. Petersburg. There was no way you guys would have tried to finish me off from there.
zultar (4180 DMod(P))
05 Jul 11 UTC
Hummm, I don't know about that Eden. Edin would either bounce with you in North Sea for a bit, or if you took London and Brest, then force yourself into North Sea. I would retreat Skag. You can't take Norway and if you take Sweden, I had an extra SC to lose and I would kick you out then (well then I'm screwed with Austria but that's the way it goes).
My moves were:

Bre -> ENG
ENG -> Lon

then Lon S ENG -> NTH

Probably lose Brest, so just blow up Belgium or something. If you retreat to Skaggerack then I take Edinburgh and just go roving around for the other center I need.
zultar (4180 DMod(P))
05 Jul 11 UTC
Then I would probably suicide and take Belgium with Ruhr. Only to piss you off, you self-serving bastard.
Probably not. That's just stupid.

Here's my first EOG, just to see if I can remember how this game went down.

Spring 1901
Crap, Italy again. I hope Austria is friendly. Let's try a nice hold in Venice just to see.
Autumn 1901
Hm, Germany and France working together. Aw, damn, CD Turkey. Might have to move on Trieste to hold Austria in check. And a Lepanto seems fun.
Winter 1901
Bounce in Trieste. Crap. Hopefully Austria doesn't see that as a reason to attack.

Spring 1902
Let's Lepanto! If Austria turns hostile, I'm doomed.
Autumn 1902
Finish out the Lepanto...I think Austria and I are on decent terms. No builds...hopefully France doesn't come east.

Spring 1903
Grabbing Smyrna. Finish out that Lepanto.
Autumn 1903
Well, that looks like hostility from France. Time to move from Venice. Hope Austria doesn't stab me. Going to try and grab Con and get two Turkish SC's at once.
Winter 1903
Woo! That worked out for me. Now to fight France. Thanks for the support, Austria!

Spring 1904
Threatening Spain should let me get to Piedmont. Hold up in Turkey for a while, see what Russia does. Move West.
Autumn 1904
Support from Austria. Awesome. Now to take Marseilles, since I think France is focused on Spain. Keep moving West.
Winter 1904
Another fleet, get some sea support and grab Spain.

Spring 1905
Ooh, Ankara's open. Grab that, and move Marseilles to Spain.
Autumn 1905
Want to be aggressive and try the MAO, but should just hold Spain. Support into Marseilles from Pie, get a couple builds.
Winter 1905
...France...damn it. Time for another fleet and an army to convoy.

Spring 1906
Convoy Rom to Mar...fun! I love convoys. Move to MAO, since France is absent.
Autumn 1906
Portugal is mine, push fleets West. Go for Brest...aw, France is back. Hm...Austria looks suspicious in Greece. Might move those Turkish centers around to see what he's up to.

Spring 1907
If I can get to Burgundy, I can break through France, I think.
Autumn 1907
Ah, Austria is moving back to the Balkans. I think we're good. And it's time to cut support from the EC. Sorry, France, but Austria can't break Germany, and he doesn't seem to want a draw. Time for me to think about soloing.

Spring 1908
Orders set...should take Brest...aw. Draw now? Well...fine.
"you self-serving bastard."

Well, technically, I still have 2 hours and 4 minutes before I'm "independent," so I guess I'm British for the next two hours--well, I wanted tea anyway, alright--so, yeah...but I'm already hearing fireworks, and it's time on the East Coast, so why not...

Age of Greed: The Triumph of Finance and the Decline of America, 1970 to the Present
I haven't yet read the eponymous book, however, there is an excellent review of it in this month's New York Review of Books. A very coherent argument is put that it is indeed greedy bankers (sensu lato) who have chiefly got the world in this financial mess and much else besides. Moreover, those who blame various foreigners and their companies for the mess America is in are barking up the wrong tree.

Question regarding to winning
Do you win instantly when your troops touchdown on that 18th center or do you need to hold it until after the fall turn?

In the one game that I've won so far, I gained the 18th on the fall turn, yet this one guy who lost his last center was not eliminated, but survived with 0 SC, 1 unit.
