Commenting on this live game: Rise of the Diplomat

I pick France to win this one, by at least four scs. Turkey despite a bonehead move to build a useless fleet in Ankara still has a decent grip on the balkans at this point. Russia is fine unless Germany decides to come say hi, but that doesn't look probable as he made the error of not taking two scs on the first move, has england on his doorstep because of an ill-covered retreat and bad communication with france, england is in defense mode and will be a true diplomat if he can pull a win out of his ass here. austria has a good toehold, but fleet trieste is still in port and being wasted.

HELLLLOOOOOO!!!! Huge developments this second turn moreso on the southeastern section of the map. Russia is now in big trouble, as I said earlier he would be safe as long as Germany didn't come over into Silesia and while I gave reasons why that would be foolish for Germany, I was wrong =(. Austria and Germany seem to have a Gransdeutsch alliance going (I think I might have botched the spelling there). BUT FOR CERTAIN, watch out folks, Italy's a coming. What balls it took to go directly for Greece, or maybe it was some good realpolitiking with Turkey, hard to say from the outside. France still looks good in the north, England still in trouble, Germany may have a shot at the BIG THREE, more commentary pending. Keep tuning in on this one, no cd's intense playing, fun game to watch (don't judge me people)

OOOOOOHHHH NOOOOOO!!!!! Italy missed a crucial move, lost Greece and failed to capitalize on the open Adr he was aiming to take or so it seemed, all hope is now lost for Italy, and things are looking much better for Turkey. France got a good sc in Belgium and now England has a disband to deal with. My prediction on the first KO will be England, followed shortly by Italy, and then Russia. Maybe it was just a fluke, and Italy will now submit orders, but we'll have to wait and see. I always hate a cd'd Italy, unless of course I'm Austria =). Turkey has an uphill battle coming unless he spreads over the Med.

Alliances as of now: Turkey/Austria, Germany/France. Can't really tell if the G/A is going or not, but Germany seems to be headed for Russia with a fleet built in Berlin. Turkey is going to start applying pressure to Ionian, and Italy will most likely go for Trieste, forcing Austria to go on the defensive, which may allow Russia a bit of breathing room so he can orient himself best to defend two fronts. I still say Russia dies in two years, and my leaderboard predictions are the same, as Turkey only has sea control at this point

Austria will likely stab Turkey after gaining a build from Warsaw. Predictions the same as of now. England did a good job defending...

Russia CD'd, Italy missed an order. New Prediction. Four-way draw (if no stabs) between Austria, Turk, Ger, Fra. Russia dies first, followed by England, followed by Italy. Russia can at least hold on to Scandinavia, but then again, she's cd'd so all hope is lost there. The Austro-Turkish alliance remains strong, as does the Franco-German one. Seems pretty straight forwards now, and live games do usually end in draws, so this one seems all but wrapped up, and only in the third year. SOOOO SAAADDD that this game, with an exciting start, would end in the same old boring fashion as most live games I've witnessed. Always next time...
