Does that affect games already paused? What happens if a player went away with an agreed pause and then finds everything moved on in his/her absence?

If you are prepared to force play, why did you not allow a full five games for this round? I am in desperate need of points and would certainly vote for a fifth game, or a sixth, or a seventh... ; )

I don't think that there are any currently paused games atm. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Naturally, a game that is already paused cannot be unpaused in the player's absence.

Because a fifth game would delay the start, and I'm not biased until you pay me to be. £100 per extra game should do the trick, I'd think :P.

Our league has been irrevocably tainted by the usual suspects. Two pieces of shit that went cd/nmr crazy last year, did it again this year.

Darned, I was hoping I could have my ass kicked in the A league from the start next season, intead of just as a sitter.

The question of staggered starts, concurrencly and sequentially really comes down to not just the timing or how effective one can be when trying to keep up to four games straight, but it also alters the negotiations. If you have all the games running at once, it makes cross-gaming more real in the sense that the "do this for me in Game 3 and I'll support you in Game 4" is easier to actually do as both are running. Likewise, the ability to see where you stand in the league becomes more difficult because your start looking at "well if they draw this, and Nameless is excluded from the other draw, then we have to make certain Clueless doesn't win this game or he'll win the League" and allows for "recoveries" that running sequentially doesn't. It would be like playing all the WPT tour final tables at the same time. You wouldn't know who was leading the tour for certain until the tour was over.

I guess what I'm trying to say is... You need to think about HOW you want the leagues played. I'm all for speeding it up, but it's up to you, TGM, to decide how YOU want the leagues played. This is your playgorund and we are all just lucky to get to swing on the swingsets.

D-4 is a mess, Game 2 is missing, Lulzworth left without a sitter or a pause so we are all (hopefully) just holding every turn, so...

C-3 is better off, we are planning a couple live sessions and builds and retreats will be finalized quickly.

I'm looking into D4 G2 atm.
