watchmen

so i finally saw the movie...and i have to say, there were a lot of things about the movie that really bugged me. but i was a big fan of the book, so thats expected. opinions on it, anybody?

Has anybody read

An interesting look at current and the future of robotics in war. Not so much about the tech as the moral, political, social, legal, chain of command, fighter and civilian morale implications. A must read for anyone interested in the future of war and peace. If you have read the book what are your thoughts.

Too many points

I think the system keeps adding 100

to make me up to 100

even when I don't need them. Maybe I'm just getting extra points for style?

I received twice as many points as I expected: 160 instead of the expected 80

. (The end-of-game notice says I won 80

.) Although I like the suggestion of style points. :-)

@lorelei, I think I may have received 160 webdiplomacy points for that game aswell, and 100 for a game I got beaten in.

PS isn't it great that the system adds the webdiplomacy points logo in?

@airbourne, if the system is adding points to everybody in some random way, I think it's beeter to cure it that to keep quiet.

If you guys want to get corrections to your points, it is possible to do that on the Admin control panel.

@TGM - I'm happy for you to correct my points, but that kind of misses the point. If the points mean anything then you should correct everybody's points.

Yeah, they don't mean anything to me, but if you want yours corrected, I will do so, is what I'm saying.

The system needs to be fixed, or replaced with Ghost-Rating (just checking if Kestas is reading :P), but I can't do that.

I certainly don't mind the extra windfall, but as a programmer I do prefer that the actual behavior of the system matches the description of the behavior of the system. :-) I noted this in the 0.9 thread also, so hopefully Kestas will notice it.

I had this same problem I think, and reported it in the 0.9 thread. When you finish a game, it adds points to you and says that "because you had less than 100

, your total has been increased by X to 100

" or something like that

This is really serious, Can one of the mods notify kestas to help set this straight? It throws the entire system out of whack, and is unfair for people who have worked hard for points thus far but aren't finishing games.

Game won't unpause

Hi there, We're on game 11444 which has been paused for ages since we were all on holiday. Now we're back, we can't unpause - everyone's voted to unpause but it also seems stuck. Is there a delay built in or are we doing something wrong?

Game is stuck

The game ''noobcity'' (http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=12082) doesn't move on although everybody has entered his orders. I would please an admin to fix this.

how do you disband fleets and armies that you have already created?

I was under the perhaps mistaken impression from reading the rulebook that you could disband your own units at any time (and then build them again at the end of fall, if you control enough supply centers, as usual). is this true, and if so, how do i do it?

if you support a move of an ally, and the ally does not make the intended move, what does it look li

so an ally was going to support the move of the other person's unit, but the other person's unit does not make that move. what does it look like on the board (sorry i am new)?
for example: austria: serbia S bulgaria M rumania
and then turkey does: bulgaria M greece
what does it look like on the board, what evidence is there that austria tried to support a move?

Error, not importent but may cause problems

If you look at the points won for an individual for past games the number is way off. In one of my past games it shows I won 900 or so points for my win. As I have never been above 250

this is not correct. This is so for all of my past wins. As I said in the title, not a big problem but it could cause some confusion.
