there is no rule about having an account sitter for a game... the person giving up his account takes all the risks if the sitter fails to issue orders or issue the wrong ones... it would be preferable if your looking for a sitter to find someone who has been around the site for a while...

so maybe it should be built into the game interface? So that sitters don't forget that they are sitting for another game? and also will allow for sitting without giving out your account password, and thus comprimizing security and possibly making false accounts of multi-account looking action?

What about an option to "open for sitting" which will post your game up to be consideration for potential sitters, then takers can then post a reply, at which point you can choose to delegate your game to a sitter. Perhaps you can agree to give a potential percentage of any points earned to the sitter. Percentage should be agreed upon by both parties.

Then the sitter gets the game shown on his homepage as well, as a normal game. That way he knows to play it, and doesn't forget to. Plus he has potential points to gain (and none to lose)

Good players may even make a tight point profit by playing as sitters. Points paid to sitters should be tracked on ones record, so as to identify players who always just "pay someone" to play for them.

Sitting is actually encouraged. Pausing and unpausing can be a real pain so finding a sitter can simplify things. As long as there are good instructions on ones wishes the sitter should follow them. If I had a sitter who outright went against my wishes, I'd post about it here on the forum. If the sitter just failed to sit, I'd probably not.

What's in it for the sitter? Only thing I can think of is potential to have the favor returned some time in the future.

That would be a nice bell or whistle. But there are a lot of bells and whistles that would be nice to have. Right now I'm just enjoying the new bells and whistles we just got.

Nah, that was us typing at the same time so I didn't see your followup post until I posted my first post. It certainly would be nice, even to permanently hand off a game that you just don't have time for to someone willing to take it.

Yeah, this has been discussed on the dev forum, but the code to do it hasn't yet been implemented.
