To any of the Mods: Please help!!
http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=5894
This game has been paused for two days straight now due to Blackheath Wanderer's banning, and he has no supply centres left. Not to mention everyone has finalized their orders, and the only person left to vote to unpause has not logged on since Tuesday morning. Please help us!

Epic Threads Question
Is there an easy way to jump to the bottom of epic threads ? For example, 'Dow jones fell 500' now has 194 replies, and it's a pain to always scroll down to the last reply!

Question re Convoys
I'm a bit new at the rule functions on here. How does the convoy work? Do I need to use a fleet and an army? Does it count as one or two units when attacking? How far can it go?

You need an army to act as the cargo, and you need at least one fleet to act as the transporter, though you can chain convoys for longer distance convoys. It counts as one unit attacking, but convoys can be supported the same way a move can be, though be careful when inputting these orders, it`s easy to muck it up.

An army can be convoyed from a coastal territory by any fleet that is in an adjacent open body of water, including that of another country`s if that country puts the correct orders in for your convoy. The army can then be convoyed to any other coastal territory that the fleet is adjacent to with the same mechanics as a move order, and may also be convoyed along to another fleet in an adjacent body of water for which the logical process essentially continues.

The convoy can be disrupted if a fleet that is participating in the convoy is displaced by superior forces. A convoy can be support moved into the final destination, and the convoying fleets may be support held to reinforce their position.
Fleets convoy armies. You can convoy an army as far as you have fleets adjacent to other fleets that that army can convoy across. For example...if you have an army in Tunis and fleets in the Western Med, MAO and English Channel--the army in Tunis can convoy to London in one turn. Every fleet in the convoy must order that it convoys the army in Tunis to London. The fleets do not have be all yours....your ally can convoy your army as well...but of course, their orders must be precise. Any fleet along the line that is attacked will disrupt the entire convoy. The convoying fleet do not support any move into an area. The army acts as a single unit. If you are trying to dislodge an opposing unit in London, you would need an army in Wales or fleet in the North Sea to support Tunis to London.

`Any fleet along the line that is attacked will disrupt the entire convoy.`

Swap attacked for displaced, or forced to retreat.
Yes...Chrispminis...you did explain that better than I did. :)

Example:

Army London move to Spain.
Fleet Channel convoy army London to Spain.
Fleet Mid Atlantic Ocean convoy army London to Spain.
Fleet Portugal support move army London to Spain.

Note that in the orders every fleet must refer to the army in question and to the destination. For instance if you give the order (in theory): Fleet Channel convoy army London to Mid Atlantic Ocean, and so forth, the attack will NOT work.

Deployment Toolkit from Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Since the site seems to work perfectly well without it there seems no reason to allow it to run, except for the annoying warning every time I change page.

Another technical question
Sorry if this is a bad place to post this. I couldn't find an answer to this in the rule book.
Can one order a unit to support hold a unit which is ordered to move but is expected to stand off and remain in the province?

a possible error?

In my orders I supported a german army from warsaw - moscow.
The support was cut (this was no problem here) however the map didn't represent the fact that the order was actually ordered!

Ghost Fleet - Disbanded fleet bug?
I disbanded a Fleet in Spain, yet in Spring 1905 the map still displays the fleet as being there. While I appreciate the cleverness of my forces in building mock units to discourage my enemies attacks, surely this is some sort of program bug? I've noticed this in some other games I've played, too.

Convoying Question
So I was thinking about Convoys. Something I don't do very often, but probably should use more often. A question popped into my head, and I'm asking the community to be sure I'm right about how they work.

Multi-account accusation
I've decided that all of you are multi-accounters bound to the single purpose of fooling me. To fix this, I propose a mass ban of every player except for me and Kestasjk.
Thank you

Opening Moves
Countries often have the choice of opening aggressively against their neighbour or playing it more neutral with more options but less early expansion opportunity. What is the better strategy?

Ex. Turkey opening to Armenia or not.

ESCALATION /When you don't have 7 players and a learning method.
I invented this in January 1966 after I could not get 7 players together to play my Christmas Present. Throughout January my best friend and I played it just about every day. It was the best tactical learning tool as well as a solution to the problem of 7.
