To any of the Mods: Please help!!
http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=5894
This game has been paused for two days straight now due to Blackheath Wanderer's banning, and he has no supply centres left. Not to mention everyone has finalized their orders, and the only person left to vote to unpause has not logged on since Tuesday morning. Please help us!

Is there an easy way to jump to the bottom of epic threads ? For example, 'Dow jones fell 500' now has 194 replies, and it's a pain to always scroll down to the last reply!

Question re Convoys
I'm a bit new at the rule functions on here. How does the convoy work? Do I need to use a fleet and an army? Does it count as one or two units when attacking? How far can it go?

Deployment Toolkit from Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Since the site seems to work perfectly well without it there seems no reason to allow it to run, except for the annoying warning every time I change page.

The third game is due to start shortly, so please check your email if you want a buy-in of less than 25, and say so in response to me.

the year is 1901 and the world is at peace.Europe has been peaceful for many years, but how a new force stops the quiet sleep of the european powers. A great elder thing has risen and is looking for a champon. All the super powers of the world see this as a chance for ultimate power. the world is now at war for a old one, who side are you on?

Moderators- Is there anything we can do about this paused game?

I mean the game was supposed be a quick one. We paused it to get rid of multis (of whom I suspect the stalled player to have been a part anyways), but now it's been paused for long past when the last phase would have ended and I think the guy just bailed. Can we do something?

I am also in a game where I took over a CD nation to find squabbles about cheating. At least one of the remaining players is refusing to unpause and is holding out for a cancellation or equivalent.

The evidence for cheating (multi-accounting) is not in the logs I can read even though I took over from one of the so-called cheats. The moves show a very solid alliance throughout the game. One can certainly consider the alliance too good given the lack of communication, but that is not quite a demonstration.

I joined to stop the game falling apart and was unaware of the argument. It was a healthy position and the chance to try a few things. I am now stuck with the pause being used as a veto on resumption of the game.

I understand the concerns but do not see that:

a) the cheating was established;
b) this is a legitimate use of the pause function.

What would be the way forward here?

I have not named the game as I am considering this as a general case.

Flash - you can email one of us to investigate further. We may be able to confirm or deny cheating.

Tirpitz - If people are not willing to continue then you can always try to draw the game. I know that's not a desired solution for everyone who's put time and effort in already but it may be the best compromise.
You said that you were worried that one player had bailed on the game. Everyone has logged in within the past 24 hours so I'm not convinced of that yet.

All of that said, refusing to unpause a game simply as a tactic is not the intent of the feature and will be frowned upon at least by me and I'm guessing by the other moderators. I don't want to act rashly, but if no progress has been made in the next few days please let me know and I will take care of it for you.

Ok, well as a public service announcement, the power to pause is a meta-privilege. It should not be used as a bargaining chip nor have any basis on the game, it is suspension of the game for real life priorities that would interfere. Please don't abuse the power.

Another technical question
Sorry if this is a bad place to post this. I couldn't find an answer to this in the rule book.
Can one order a unit to support hold a unit which is ordered to move but is expected to stand off and remain in the province?

a possible error?

In my orders I supported a german army from warsaw - moscow.
The support was cut (this was no problem here) however the map didn't represent the fact that the order was actually ordered!

Ghost Fleet - Disbanded fleet bug?
I disbanded a Fleet in Spain, yet in Spring 1905 the map still displays the fleet as being there. While I appreciate the cleverness of my forces in building mock units to discourage my enemies attacks, surely this is some sort of program bug? I've noticed this in some other games I've played, too.

Convoying Question
So I was thinking about Convoys. Something I don't do very often, but probably should use more often. A question popped into my head, and I'm asking the community to be sure I'm right about how they work.

Multi-account accusation
I've decided that all of you are multi-accounters bound to the single purpose of fooling me. To fix this, I propose a mass ban of every player except for me and Kestasjk.
Thank you

Opening Moves
Countries often have the choice of opening aggressively against their neighbour or playing it more neutral with more options but less early expansion opportunity. What is the better strategy?

Ex. Turkey opening to Armenia or not.

ESCALATION /When you don't have 7 players and a learning method.
I invented this in January 1966 after I could not get 7 players together to play my Christmas Present. Throughout January my best friend and I played it just about every day. It was the best tactical learning tool as well as a solution to the problem of 7.
