Karl Marx's predictions about wages
If I under correctly Karl Marx predicted that workers wages would fall, over time, until the workers would have no choice but to overthrow the system. Can anyone tell in which book/essay he actually made this prediction?

What I don't like about Diplomacy
Is that this is a zero-sum game. In order to win, you have to make other players lose. I, as an entrepreneur, libertarian and capitalist, find it particularly hard to see the behavior of people when they think they are playing a zero-sum game. Maybe this is why I take human behavior in the game so hard.

Voting Strategy
With the current political landscape, I am facing the very real possibility of the two main candidates being, in my opinion, pretty awful. I have had numerous discussions with friends over the strategy, but I bring it to you. Is it worth it to vote on principle? Should I vote third party if I think they are the best candidate? Or do I vote for the lesser of two evils among the big two?

Anybody up for a Low-Stakes Live Game in like an hour?
Hi!
Just wondering if anybody would be up for a low stakes live game starting in like an hour.
I'm thinking a bet of 10 and 15 minute phases?

not ready setting
Hello, I'm a newbie here. I am curious. If I put in some orders, save them and click the ready button, my orders are in and everything is great. Later, I go and click not ready. My previous orders were in and now I am changing some of them. I fail to clock watch and the time to make my moves expires. Does the software progress with my first set of orders? Or does the software cause my power to go into Civil Disorder.

More Than, or less than?
My mom is creating a recipe book that is going to be published, and she came to a point where she didn't know weather to capitalize as part of the title: "More Than, or Less Than" or not "more than, or less than"
Which way do you guys think is right?

The full title matters indeed. The "," might be misplaced as well.

Yes, we're having a very nasty spell of whether at the moment.

More and less are adverbs so they should be capitalized. Than is a preposition as it is used so it should not be capitalized unless it's the first or last word of the title. Or should not be capitalized either as it is a conjunction unless it's the first or last word of the title.
steephie22 (182 D(S))

"A+ Recipes in Fastfood Times"

The book sounds fun, good luck to your mom.

I would say that 'Requiring' is an awkward word in a title, it also sounds rather officious.

As someone who DOES buy cookbooks occasionally, I'd be more inclined to look at something that indicates why *kind* of recipes it is that can be cooked in 30 minutes. This is surely the most important things.

"100 Family Recipes in Under 30 Minutes"

"100 Cookie Recipes in Under 30 Minutes"

That's a big difference.

My tips:
1. Cut the word 'requiring'. It's too clunky.
2. Indicate what type of recipes this book contains.
3. Maybe indicate how many recipes, a high number grabs attention.
steephie22 (182 D(S))

"100 A+ Family Recipes in Fastfood Times"

Obviously replace Family with whatever applies.

MLA, AP, APA, Chicago all capitalize "Than". I don't know what style Putin is referring to.

But I agree that the title's kind of weak to begin with. Jamie's "29 Minute Recipes" is cute, but also implies that the recipes are all 29 minutes. "29 Minutes to Dinner" is taken. steephie's suggestion is a subtitle, not a title (and is also apparently already owned--he'll have to tell me how he managed to get a title copyrighted). Hm. How about "Half-Hour Cooking"?

Is there any particular style of cooking the title should emphasize besides the short cooking times?

Than is a preposition and Chicago Manual of Style states that they should not be capitalized in titles.

reedeer1 (100 D)

So I was just telling my mom what you all said, and she said that it was a subtitle. The full title is a follows:
"Quick and Tasty 4-H Recipes for Healthy Youth: Easy-to-Follow, Healthy Recipes to Try at 4-H Events or at Home" then the part she asked about was categorizing the list of recipes into two categories "Recipes Requiring Less Than 30 Minutes" and "Recipes Requiring More Than 30 Minutes"
Lethologica (203 D)
13 Mar 16 UTC
Interestingly, Putin, the link you give specifies *short* prepositions and gives as examples only prepositions of three letters or fewer, but another MLA guide applies the rule to *all* prepositions. Huzzah for standards, everyone loves them, amirite? It's good to know there's at least one standard where "than" is not capitalized, though.

reedeer, I'd suggest a new title and also considering sentence case for the category labels: "Recipes requiring less than 30 minutes" and "Recipes requiring more than 30 minutes".
Putin33 (111 D)
13 Mar 16 UTC
CSOM says, according to the link I provided, the following:

lowercase all prepositions regardless of length, except in the following situations:
When the preposition is stressed.
When a preposition is used as an adverb or an adjective.
When a preposition is part of a Latin expression used as an adverb or an adjective.

What you referenced is not the CSOM, but another guide.

What is a "4-H" recipe?
Jamiet99uk (1307 D)
13 Mar 16 UTC
Google suggests it might mean "4-Hexylresorcinol"

"4-Hexylresorcinol is a substituted dihydroxybenzene used topically as an antiseptic for the treatment of minor skin infections."

It would be unusual to base a recipe book around the use of this chemical, so I presume it means something else.

Hands - Giving, Working
Health - Being, Living"

Many people eat prepared food, but most of my friends families cook for themselves. For the most part, higher education families cook for themselves more (I live in a college town, and most of my friends parents work at a college.)
Heather food costs more, so it is harder for lower income families to eat as healthy.

My family ate a sit-down, home made dinner six days out of seven.

The fast food v. prepared food is not a matter of cost but convenience. Which can also be a matter of cost, if you look at it in a certain way. But obesity and poverty are tied closely in the US because it is cheaper to buy crap food.

RECLAIM THE NIGHT
Women should feel and be safe walking in the streets every day and night. Sadly, this just isn't the case, all across the world. But once a year UK feminist groups hold a Reclaim the Night march across our cities. Tonight is that night, reclaiming the night for our mums, sisters, daughters, family and friends that just happen to be women.

Roman's never recorded anyone named Jesus being crucified
For an empire which was renowned for record keeping; it always struck me as odd that nobody named Jesus was ever Crucified. I asked my Mormon girlfriend once and they told me it was because Romans were afraid to let the truth get out that they had killed the son of God.

I Demand a Refund
I paid for a car wash after I got gas at Shell this evening but their wash was out of service. I asked for a refund and was told that it wasn't their fault that the wash was closed and that I should come back some other time when it's open and use the code then.

I'm curious to see what other stupid things you all should but can't get a refund for because of jackass cashiers.
