Karl Marx's predictions about wages
If I under correctly Karl Marx predicted that workers wages would fall, over time, until the workers would have no choice but to overthrow the system. Can anyone tell in which book/essay he actually made this prediction?

What I don't like about Diplomacy
Is that this is a zero-sum game. In order to win, you have to make other players lose. I, as an entrepreneur, libertarian and capitalist, find it particularly hard to see the behavior of people when they think they are playing a zero-sum game. Maybe this is why I take human behavior in the game so hard.

Voting Strategy
With the current political landscape, I am facing the very real possibility of the two main candidates being, in my opinion, pretty awful. I have had numerous discussions with friends over the strategy, but I bring it to you. Is it worth it to vote on principle? Should I vote third party if I think they are the best candidate? Or do I vote for the lesser of two evils among the big two?

not ready setting
Hello, I'm a newbie here. I am curious. If I put in some orders, save them and click the ready button, my orders are in and everything is great. Later, I go and click not ready. My previous orders were in and now I am changing some of them. I fail to clock watch and the time to make my moves expires. Does the software progress with my first set of orders? Or does the software cause my power to go into Civil Disorder.

RECLAIM THE NIGHT
Women should feel and be safe walking in the streets every day and night. Sadly, this just isn't the case, all across the world. But once a year UK feminist groups hold a Reclaim the Night march across our cities. Tonight is that night, reclaiming the night for our mums, sisters, daughters, family and friends that just happen to be women.

Roman's never recorded anyone named Jesus being crucified
For an empire which was renowned for record keeping; it always struck me as odd that nobody named Jesus was ever Crucified. I asked my Mormon girlfriend once and they told me it was because Romans were afraid to let the truth get out that they had killed the son of God.

I Demand a Refund
I paid for a car wash after I got gas at Shell this evening but their wash was out of service. I asked for a refund and was told that it wasn't their fault that the wash was closed and that I should come back some other time when it's open and use the code then.

I'm curious to see what other stupid things you all should but can't get a refund for because of jackass cashiers.

What you do is wash the car yourself like a real man :p. Failing that you explain calmly and politely and very loudly to the cashier why you are right and they are wrong, preferably at the till so they are unable to serve any customers while you're doing it, and keep on making your points over and over again until they give in. Also make a note of their name. They really hate that.

"Contact Trump, see what he's willing to do for you."

Trump is being sued over the failures of his Trump University. He's been deposed that he doesn't know the teachers that he hand picked. It closed and finally got an A rating from the Better Business Bureau by outlasting the complaints until they no longer counted.

Trump got a car crash of a business an A rating by exploiting technicalities and loopholes? Maybe he does have what it takes to make a successful president. Thank you, Randomizer, it's not often you hear something that can genuinely change your mind about an issue.

Octavious (2732 D)

Good Lord why? Post on their Facebook site, if possible give them an awful review on Google, and write a letter to them explaining how after many years of being a Shell customer you are appalled that their standards of customer service have plummeted so much. Let them think you are the sort of arse with too much time on their hands who is just looking for an excuse to start a social media campaign.
1) Did you get a discounted rate on your gas because you paid for a car wash?
2) Why did you pay for a car wash if the car wash wasn't open?
3) If it's store policy, then it's not the cashier's fault - did you ask to speak to a manager?
4) If you accepted the cashier's explanation and left, yeah... you could post on Facebook about it. Or you could call the store, ask to speak with a manager, and work on getting you $6 back.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
12 Mar 16 UTC
1) Yes, but I purchased a car wash. I didn't purchase discounted gas.
2) Because I didn't know it wasn't open...?
3) The cashier being an asshole is the cashier's fault, and the manager evidently wasn't there.
4) Or I could make it my life's mission to take down the Shell corporatocracy, one bloated talking head at a time.
DeltaAjaxNiner (1515 D(B))

Ok, well ... sometimes gas places sell car washes and discount the gas by 10 cents a gallon. So, they probably wouldn't refund if that was the case.

If you have a few minutes, you should look up "caveat emptor." What were the terms of sale? Does Shell have a refund or credit policy? You think they're being unreasonable, but technically you purchased a car wash at a certain rate, but since you did it at the pump instead of at the car wash, there was not a reasonable expectation of immediate service.

If the cashier was being an asshole, you need to document it and inform his manager. The most appropriate and professional way of doing so is waiting for his shift to complete and then calling and asking how you submit a comment to a manager.

If it truly becomes your life mission to take down the Shell corporation of a $6 car wash, that you can redeem at any Shell station with a car wash in the United States - or at your local Shell station once their system is up and running again - you truly lead a sad, sad life. I suggest you seek counseling or grow a set of balls, whichever fits within your budget. And, since $6 seems to be the point at which you lose rationality, I'd suggest you just spend a half hour washing your own damn car - you might find the experience therapeutic.

What planet do you live on, DAN? You go to a petrol station with a car wash and buy a car wash. In what set of circumstances is it not reasonable to then expect to use the car wash? I can't imagine anywhere in Britain where you wouldn't get an immediate refund and apology. In much the same way that if I went to a pub and paid for a meal, the very very least I'd expect is to get that meal on the same evening.

The $6 is irrelevant. The principle is all.

The carwash owner/manager may be hoping that you'll go away when the cost to get the refund exceeds what you paid. It's why small frauds are so effective since the government won't do anything over misdemeanor amounts. The filing fee for small claims court and the time needed to go there is more than you lost.
