Gunboat signals
Are there common signals in gunboat? For example, does a support move indicate "I want u to move there" while a support hold indicates "I want u to stay there" while an attempted movement indicates "I want u to support me there"???

Tea vs. Coffee
So I have decided that its really hard to choose between the two. I drink probably about 6 cups of coffee a day using Keurig. But then I also use herbal peach tea and scottish breakfast tea for when I get bored with the coffee. In all I likely drink about 12-15 cups of something hot and thought provoking a day.

Scottish breakfast tea is indeed thought provoking. The first thought being that I've never noticed any tea plantations in Scotland. The second being whether anyone from Scotland has ever drunk any Scottish breakfast tea.

The third thought is that it's been too long since I've had a Scottish breakfast :(.

I was born in Scotland.

I have never heard of "Scottish breakfast tea".

I drink quite a lot of tea - mostly English breakfast, or Assam.

I'd suggest that "Scottish breakfast tea" is probably the result of a tea blender trying to re-brand a slight variation of English breakfast for marketing purposes.

I do also like coffee but I'd advise against using one of those pod-based machines. The coffee isn't all that nice, in my experience, and their environmental impact is awful, they create so much pointless waste. Get a cafetiere.

who says you have to choose between the two? i usually start with a quick coffee depending on how my digestion is doing, and then move immediately into a nice pot of earl grey. after this, i'll swing back and forth between tea and coffee until around noon, when i throw it into gear and break open a beer. working my way through a six pack over the next hour or two, i start to feel dehydrated so i brew a nice pot of darjeeling, which levels things nicely. dinner time arrives, and its time for wine, usually red, decanted and served in a long stem glass. this is usually followed by a dessert coffee or two, and then more wine until the bottle is finished because i've misplaced the cork. finally, one or two bourbons before a midnight pot of breakfast tea with plenty of milk. then bed.

Camp Coffee is also extremely thought provoking. The chief thought being "what the hell is in this stuff?!?".

How Do You Like Your Coffee And Tea?

Earl Grey, Hot.
I like both, but I have an espresso machine, and I like espresso much better than tea.
and black. Always black.

I only drink coffee or tea sparingly, typically in the evening or on the weekends. I like coffee (typically black or espresso) after a nice meal and tea (mint or apple) when I'm smoking hookah.

A common Internet meme. Let me know when you have something more than Ayurvedic woo-woo to go on. 'Til then, I'll drink water at any pleasant temperature.

Has nothing to do with "Ayurvedic woo woo" and everything to do with acid reflux. Drinking ice water causes esophagus spasms.
Lethologica (203 D)

"What causes esophageal spasms and strictures?
No one is sure exactly what causes esophageal spasms. The nerves that regulate peristalsis, the series of muscle contractions in the esophagus, might not function properly. Sometimes spasms are triggered when a person eats hot or cold foods, or drinks hot or cold beverages. However, spasms can also occur in the absence of eating or drinking."
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases_conditions/hic-esophageal-spasms-strictures

Acid reflux itself is also a cause of esophageal spasms, but where is your link between drinking cold water and acid reflux?

Putin: you TYPOCAL LIBYARD. Why is everything about temperature with you? Damn. He just said water and you're going around saying it automatically has to be cold. Dammit, not all water is ice cold. Stop spewing your LIBTARD assertions all over this place.

Numerous studies show that drinking cold fluid increases gastric emptying time. Increased emptying time leads to acid build-up/reflux.

Sorry in 'Merica people run around with giant jugs of ice water. People suck on ice even. You go to a restaurant and your cup is 90% ice. I've never seen the preoccupation with ice anywhere else.

PSB:
There is one plantation here http://weeteacompany.com and PG Tips make a thing called Scottish Blend which is meant to be designed to used with soft water but is probably just a marketing angle.
That is all.

The Biggest Election So Far This Year
Iran's elections for Majlis and the Assembly of Experts. The reformists look like they're going to win big, a coalition they've put together has already won all the Tehran seats in Majlis, and they've ousted a number of hardliners in the Assembly of Experts, with President Rouhani himself picking up a seat in that. Thoughts?
