Scottish breakfast tea is indeed thought provoking. The first thought being that I've never noticed any tea plantations in Scotland. The second being whether anyone from Scotland has ever drunk any Scottish breakfast tea.

The third thought is that it's been too long since I've had a Scottish breakfast :(.

I'd suggest that "Scottish breakfast tea" is probably the result of a tea blender trying to re-brand a slight variation of English breakfast for marketing purposes.

I do also like coffee but I'd advise against using one of those pod-based machines. The coffee isn't all that nice, in my experience, and their environmental impact is awful, they create so much pointless waste. Get a cafetiere.

who says you have to choose between the two? i usually start with a quick coffee depending on how my digestion is doing, and then move immediately into a nice pot of earl grey. after this, i'll swing back and forth between tea and coffee until around noon, when i throw it into gear and break open a beer. working my way through a six pack over the next hour or two, i start to feel dehydrated so i brew a nice pot of darjeeling, which levels things nicely. dinner time arrives, and its time for wine, usually red, decanted and served in a long stem glass. this is usually followed by a dessert coffee or two, and then more wine until the bottle is finished because i've misplaced the cork. finally, one or two bourbons before a midnight pot of breakfast tea with plenty of milk. then bed.

Camp Coffee is also extremely thought provoking. The chief thought being "what the hell is in this stuff?!?".

Numerous studies show that drinking cold fluid increases gastric emptying time. Increased emptying time leads to acid build-up/reflux.

Sorry in 'Merica people run around with giant jugs of ice water. People suck on ice even. You go to a restaurant and your cup is 90% ice. I've never seen the preoccupation with ice anywhere else.
