Hello, Diplomats. BlackJackP74 here again. I have a family that I think would enjoy this wonderful game that we enjoy. We number 4, including me. I have in mind the South American map from VDip. The only question is: how do I introduce them to the game without them losing interest?

So, I finally made a decision and purchased a slightly used Intel NUC. It has a 1.8 GHz i3 processor, 128GB SSD and 3GB RAM. It's a cute little box that hides nicely in the living room. I just watched an HD movie (Sicario) and the computer had no issue transcoding it. The fan wasn't audible over the speakers and I'm thinking it's a pretty good solution for anyone going that route.
Do we have a facebook page? I found one that looks like it hasn't been touched since 2012. Then I see a bunch called Webdip that look like they are locked.

Interestingly, if you google 'Longest game of Diplomacy', a direct link to that game shows up on either the first or second page (depending on whether you frequent webDip or not).
in 2050, while standing next to a smoldering, glowing, radioactive crater that used to be central europe, a grumpy webdiplomacy player sniffs and mutters to himself "see, PPSC is better, buttholes."
For a serious discussion, it'll be about the same as it is now except everything is even more ugly and shiny looking because chrome will come back in fashion when it should have stayed dead.
.. I just had a terrifying thought. The younger of us, in 2050 (well maybe add a decade and a half), will have to explain to our grandchildren what memes were and why we found them amusing.

I will be spending most of 2050 reminding Jamie that he will be 70 next year, and grumbling about the new Prime Chancellor, Jessica Benn, moving the Northern European retirement age to 80.
Antarctica will be icefree and about the only place we can live @. There and online, body exept brain used for heating. Brain will be hooked online 24/7, Justin B will be current wdc champ, and lepanto will still fail in 99/100 times
PPSC will have been removed from webdip and forgotten about for decades only to be revived by young mid-century trustfund hipsters who will consider it the only correct way to play Diplomacy by intelligent people.
After many years of fantastic service to this site and its community, TheMinisterOfWar has stepped down as a moderator. I'd like to thank him for all the hard work he's put in both on the moderation side, and on the driving this site forward. His work in the background has helped make this site a better place for everyone, and I look forward to hopefully being able to go to the Netherlands and meet him again at one of the Dutch FTF tournaments this year.
Damn, I thought I had been banned or something. I'm so glad it's up a running again. I'm so grateful, I'm motivated to curb my trolling. At least for awhile.
Might be jumping the gun on this but, any webdippers planning on attending this event? Never been to a f2f tournament myself but this seems like a good enough place to start.
I would like to make a non-drivel Forum post in honor of our Mods-Admins. We should thank them for a great 2015 and have a Webdip community driven award for one of them.
