Introducing Family Members to Diplomacy

Hello, Diplomats. BlackJackP74 here again. I have a family that I think would enjoy this wonderful game that we enjoy. We number 4, including me. I have in mind the South American map from VDip. The only question is: how do I introduce them to the game without them losing interest?

[Update] Help me build a cheap PC for my media centre

So, I finally made a decision and purchased a slightly used Intel NUC. It has a 1.8 GHz i3 processor, 128GB SSD and 3GB RAM. It's a cute little box that hides nicely in the living room. I just watched an HD movie (Sicario) and the computer had no issue transcoding it. The fan wasn't audible over the speakers and I'm thinking it's a pretty good solution for anyone going that route.

Mod Team Announcement

After many years of fantastic service to this site and its community, TheMinisterOfWar has stepped down as a moderator. I'd like to thank him for all the hard work he's put in both on the moderation side, and on the driving this site forward. His work in the background has helped make this site a better place for everyone, and I look forward to hopefully being able to go to the Netherlands and meet him again at one of the Dutch FTF tournaments this year.

I will send out a personal message with an invite to your game. Please do check it if you see me post in it though as it is the general medium I will be making announcements, although tomorrow I'll be making a new thread for the first round, but same idea.

If ONE MORE PERSON signs up I'll be forced to use 6 alternates to make a full board ;)

Well, technically there were 64 "Player" sign ups as one person signed up privately, but since there's a good chance at least one of the 63 will back out, we'll call it 9 boards ;)

In fact, I think I'll back out. I'm 95% certain I won't be able to keep up with the game and will likely CD if I play. My schedule just doesn't allow for it right now - I had a lot of trouble staying on top of a 36-hour GB game, let alone a 24-hour press game.
