Fleet moves from Ukraine to Poland

In my game, I am Russia and at conflict with Near-East. His fleet got behind my lines when it magically moved to Poland from the Ukraine. This shouldn't occur. A fleet can not move across land. I would appreciate it if this issue was resolved.

Destroying units when no orders received.

If I read the FAQ properly, when no orders are received, units are destroyed based on distance from a home supply center with a tie-breaker being alphabetic order. In a current game I'm playing, Russia had to destroy two units. Livonia, Ukraine and Black Sea were all one move away from a home SC. The units that were destroyed, however, were Black Sea and Ukraine. Based on the tie-breaker, shouldn't that have been Black Sea and Livonia?

3-4 Day Trip to NYC

Any suggestions for what to see in a half week trip to NYC? This place has historically given good tips on this sort of thing.

*Particularly interested in off beat/not the usual tourist stuff.

Which Country is the Strongest?

The age old question. Traditionally, people might say Russia, but I have some evidence from the old Masters data that may suggest otherwise. Its not statistically significant, but its a starting point for a conversation.

What exactly is meant by a gunboat??

I wish to know what is meant by a gunboat?? And what is a tournament? Can new players participate in tournaments?? Also, what if my points become 0? Would appreciate if I get answers to all my questions.

Need Help with an unfair game

There is one player taking advantage of two abandoned players, getting every sc left alone to get a solo. I think this kind of games is not consistent with the nature of Diplomacy. Maybe the rules were set like that at the beginning, but if anyone is boring and wants to offer some resistence, I could send you which game it is. I'm not sure if that is legal here because the game is anonymous.

NFL Pick 'em Week 5: The Parade of 2-2 Teams

Well, we missed last week, and (another) TNF blowout, but we're back. :) My oh my, look at all the 2-2 teams. My 49ers, fresh off pulling out a win none but I thought (hoped?) possible face the return of Alex Smith and the Chiefs, both at 2-2. Bears/Panthers? 2-2. Falcons/Giants? 2-2. The Texas teams clash, the Cowboys and Texans both sitting at 3-1. The SNF match-up? The reeling (!) Pats vs. the unbeaten (!) Bengals...Week 5...pick 'em!

Just checking a rule

Could a fleet in Gulf of Bothnia support a fleet int St Petersburg from Barents sea? Or would that not work as they border different coasts.

I'd assume not, but I just wanted to double check, as it's not a situation I've ever had I believe, but it's not one I want to wait to find out if I'm right or wrong from experience.

I'm having a strange delay, where the timer says "Now" but the move does not take place for another 30 seconds or more. Then when the next turn starts, rather than having the full 5 minutes that should be available, I have 4:30, or even as little as 4:10. This happens whether or not I am hitting refresh, so far as I can tell.

Anyone experienced this before, or know of any fixes?

That could be it... started last night for me -- previously, live games ticked over right when they should, and I had a full 5 minutes at the beginning of the next turn.

Hmm, I see what you mean. Kestas did something to all games 16 hours ago. I'll see if I can figure out what happened.

It has to do with the clock on your device, if it is off any at all then the timer on your games will be off that same amount.

Seth -- I'm not following, since the issue is not about the timer being off from "real" time -- it's about the turn not changing when it says it has. That said, if you've seen this before, how do I fix it?

that's sorta what I'd guessed seth
and we're still getting the full 5 minutes (assuming you refresh at the right time) the seconds that you seem to be missing at the start will show up as the delay when it says 'now'

Perhaps -- I haven't tried changing orders during the time between when it says "Now" and when the move appears to take effect.

I checked my computer's clock against NIST's, though, and it's only a couple of seconds off.

It's not a problem with the clock on people's devices. Typically it is, this time it isn't. Looking into it.

Jaime, I think what Seth meant is that the timer you see will match the time on your computer/tablet whatever you're using, so if the next phase is supposed to start at 19:24, and your device's clock says 19:24 it will display 'now' even though there are still a few seconds left

Well one thing you might try is going to the clock on your device and changing it 30 seconds or so one way, if that fixes it then great. If it doesn't then go back the opposite way, and find the spot where you don't have any difference in the times you see when you refresh the browser and when the screen is still.

If you open your map and hold escape for a second before anything loads, you can see how much time is actually left in the phase. That'll stop all scripts, so you have to refresh again to actually enter orders or send press, but you can see it.

Actually, now the game is saying next phase at one time and my computer's clock will be a full minute ahead, so I guess it isn't the problem, just like JMO said

Hmm -- I changed my clock by close to 2 min, and now it's closer to the game movement.

If you put your clock forward by six minutes you can see the outcome of the current turn before the game processes. Then you can set your time back five minutes and change your orders.

I traded Lesean McCoy/Ledarius Green for Martellus Bennett/Monte Ball in fantasy football

So far, McCoy has not had a good game. He hit 13 pts once, has 1 rushing TD, no games reaching 80 yds and earned 2

last game. Philly is facing a tough niner's D tomorrow and still has a rigid schedule. That said, he is still a prolific back and is a solid target in the short passing game. I have sproles on my team, but did I make a mistake?
