To elaborate, if we're not even silencing you for being a troll about this we're not going to ban a new person who makes an "innocent" mistake.

But, TheMinisterOfWar, its a FORUM! This is a place to discuss what we like with other members of the site! With your logic, one can go on a news website if they are enthusiastic about current events or an Ebola website if they are interested in the Ebola outbreaks; there's no point in making a post to speak about it with other people on Webdiplomacy.net. if they can simply go on a website that allows you to access content relevant to the topic. With your logic, there's no point in even having a forum!

The mods will silence and give multiple chances for explanation. Even jf aomeone does get banned they can email the mods, explain their situation, and sometimes get unbanned. The mods usually take an objective approach to things and will only resort to banning if the problem persists. They will silence first.

And to add to that, emailing the mods is much more effective than spamming the forum. Spamming the forum (especially with actual links pushing the limits) gets you negative attention and sanctions. Emailing the mods usually yields good discussion on rule suggestions etc, as many long-time members here no doubt know.

I use the forum like In would talk with my friends. I don't show pornography to my friends. OR questionable pornography for your case I suppose

I'll say what the mods are forbidden from saying due to their position.

You have a little bit of experience in posting "adult content" on this site. You've had threads locked before. Thus, you're spamming.

JamesYanik, you and I may have different friend groups and we may do or share different things with them. To your argument, I propose my same argument that I used against "common sense" and "being sensible".

I would say making the same thread repeatedly is against common sense, personally.

I will grant you that the ban on pornographic content is not in the rulebook.
However since you have already received a warning that is hardly an excuse.
If you aren't sure if the content you want to post is appropriate for the site based on the rules outlined in the book as well as the directives laid out by Kestas you have two options. 1.) Exercise caution don't post it, share at another venue. 2.) Follow Jmo's request, email the mod team and ask about your request.

Posting content that is potentially questionable to "ask", if it would be okay to post, is not the proper way to go about this.

bo_sox48, according to you, I have circumvented a lock three times. I would like to make it clear that my first time posting regarding pornography, I simply facilitated discussion about it and did not post any pornographic media. My second time posting, I tried to facilitate discussion by posting pornography that I thought might be suitable for the site, not that I wished to circumvent a lock on my previous thread. Regarding the thread that was recently locked, I was simply asking a question and provided examples regarding my question, but the actual adult material didn't become the focus of the thread until pangloss began to post his own material.

This site is hosted in Australia, so we'll take that as the local custom, shall we?

@Brew: if you have actual proper suggestions to send, they are always welcome - please email the mods so that we can give it proper attention. Again, it has happened quite often before, so if you are serious about wanting to improve the site then consider that road.

In the mean time, this post on the forum seems to fall in the category 'obvious troll is obvious' and it will from now get the appropriate amount of attention from me, being zero. Please don't repost any links, as we'd still want to avoid a silence.

damian, how could I have properly asked my question and received a proper response if I didn't provide any examples? For such a serious topic, I want to eliminate any possible ambiguity regarding my question. I also made this thread regarding ambiguity on this site, as a matter of fact.

@pangloss, the checker next to bo's name lets him answer modding questions. If you're concerned about his answers I'll gladly discuss it via the email, where the rules say to send mod appeal requests.

@Brewmachine, as someone else pointed out, the last porn thread was almost a year ago. So I deny your point as valid. We have gotten thousands of new members who resisted temptation. If you have any other points you'd care to share make sure to email them. Sorry if you don't like it, but that's how we're keeping record of member concerns these days. You can talk to the big man upstairs, Zultar, if you disagree with our current modding issue. He too can be reached by email.

Banning me wouldn't resolve any ambiguity, as I was the one to point out the ambiguity in the first place and am still trying to further my argument. Banning me wouldn't amend any rules and wouldn't serve to help any other members of the site that fail to see through said ambiguity. Besides, I never asked for anyone to ban me, you simply took my words out of context and used them for your own distracting jest.

Everyone, I didn't mean to turn this into another debate about porn, but I guess that was the direction that the wind seemed to blow in tonight. I was simply using the lack of rules regarding porn as an example regarding the out-of-date rules on this website. Nevertheless, it seems that if I wish to continue my query, it will be via email with the mods.
