So, I was approaching this line-up at a convenience store or at least I thought I was...
...I guess the problem was I didn't know if I was going to the front or the back of the line because the clerk/owner was turned around on a stool...

So a girl isn't sure about 'breaking up' with a guy and I help her figure it out..
I think I've done it pretty much by the book, but I can't ignore the fact that there's quite a bias: I really like her, and I don't like him. So breaking up happens to be in my favour.
What I wonder is: does this make it wrong? At least consciously, the only thing I care about is helping her do the right thing, and there's definitely something 'cold' between them that wouldn't be there if they love eachother.. I'm pretty sure it would end at some point anyway..

The Favorite Author Tournament: The Elite 8
Into Round 4, the Elite 8, and the contestants? George Orwell, who IS More Equal than Others! Charles Dickens, who has Great Expectations after taking out Homer! Virginia Woolf, in a League and Room of Her Own as the last female author standing! Victor Hugo, Master of Notre Dame! Poe, who's looking to be eliminated nevermore! Dumas, out-dueling all comers! Isaac Asimov, laying the Foundation for victory! And Tolkien, beating Vergil to become the One Fantasy Writer to Rule them All!

Is anyone thinking about creating an option for a minimum threshold to join a new game based on reliability rating?

Classic Chaos
This site needs the "Classic Chaos" variant from Vdiplomacy. I would play it at Vdip but it's next to impossible to start a chaos game there.
Good idea no?

So I want to get people to try out a novel idea I had: a game where you can never build, except to get back to your starting # of units.

So I am approaching two major milestones in my life this weekend. I am getting married tomorrow afternoon. In most cases, this would be a fairly major point in an individual's life, but it pales in comparison to my other achievement. You may or may not have noticed, but I am very close to breaking into rarified air of the 3000 +1 club, currently occupied only by former mod/ombudsman abgemacht. This would mean even more to me than marriage would. Marriage is temporary, but +1s are forever.

Normally, my +1 whoring is limited to using my dry, intellectual humor and my rapist's wit, but I'm coming to you to ask for your help in making this the greatest weekend any WebDipper could possibly have.

Have you considered adding +1s to your wedding registry?

I know you don't care about this, but I gave you the 3000 one.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))

2WL has a much better posts to likes rate. abgemacht is ~1 like per post, where 2WL is around 3.

Thanks guys! 3001 and counting! You are now free to resume normal business.
Draugnar (0 DX)

@Chaqa - That's because Abge, like me, has been around way longer than +1 capabilities have existed on the site. That posts to likes ration is bogus for us long time members.
Draugnar (0 DX)
20 Jun 14 UTC
Also, you are looking at likes to liked, not forum posts. What that stat means is abgemacht is more free with giving out +1s and 2WL, bastard that he is, is fucking stingy.

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while Draug.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))

I've been around since 2010... and for a bit before that, I think, when it was phpDiplomacy (or was it Facebook diplomacy?) I forget, really, same layout mainly though.
Draugnar (0 DX)
20 Jun 14 UTC
2WL, Abge wasn't the only one liked more than 3000 times (count Draugnar cough)
Draugnar (0 DX)
20 Jun 14 UTC
Chaqa - 2008 here. And the stats from Facebook dip don't count here. That was someone else implemented Kestas' code.
Draugnar (0 DX)
20 Jun 14 UTC
And again I point out that you weren't looking at abge's and 2WL's posts to liked ration. You were looking at likes to liked which makes 2WL greedy.
2ndWhiteLine (2736 D(B))
20 Jun 14 UTC
I'll pass you soon enough. Even only having 3 members of the 3000 club is pretty sweet. That's a bigger accomplishment than having the most points on the server.
Draugnar (0 DX)
20 Jun 14 UTC
...and stingy.
Draugnar (0 DX)
20 Jun 14 UTC
You need to surpass the likes to liked ratio. Otherwise you'd a greedy point whore who takes but never gives back.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
20 Jun 14 UTC
krellin has the most likes on the forum, iirc. It's close if not.

So 2WL wants to be like Krellin. Lots of likes from flinging shit but stingy with giving the love back.
2ndWhiteLine (2736 D(B))

I don't fling shit. 5483 posts, 3004 likes. That's quality shit that I post.

That's nice, the words 'See inside' get 8 +1s ..... if only marriage was that easy.
Whenever I meet young arrogant people nowadays I always say to them "I hope you get married one day and have loads of kids", of course they take it as a great compliment, they would because they are arrogant.
It can be years later before they get the joke ..... usually just at that point when the kids have started and the sex has stopped and there is no money left.
Some of the best jokes can take a little while to sink in.
Congratulations on your wedding 2WL, I hope you and your lovely wife have a whole bunch of kids :-)

Very minor bug
Very minor issue that probably doesn't affect many people. If you sign in to a banned account (I created an account in error near the beginning, forgetting that I already had one), there's no 'log out' button. I needed to clear the cookies in order to sign in with my real one. Not a big issue but figured it was worth mentioning.

Looking for a replacement player in the SoW game.
PM me if you're interested. Please do not post interest here since it's an anonymous game. Any player that is interested will do, but I place preference on those that have completed games and have not had a track record of CDs.
