Even if you agree with their ideology, it's kind of beyond debate that Russia Today is a pretty sorry excuse for journalism and a platform for fringe kooks. Oh, and the there's the fact that it's financed by that bastion of truth, the Russian government. If you want a consistently critical view of the United States that's also good journalism go to Al Jezeera.
As for the lawsuit, we should take any judicial ruling coming out of China with some serious heaps of salt. The country does not have anything like the rule of law. In America you get the best outcome by having enough money to get the best lawyers, in China, and many other places, you get the best outcome by having enough money to bribe the judge or being influential in the ruling party. Neither is perfect, but at least here you can theoretically, and often do, get consistently just results, particularly in civil cases.
