Even if you agree with their ideology, it's kind of beyond debate that Russia Today is a pretty sorry excuse for journalism and a platform for fringe kooks. Oh, and the there's the fact that it's financed by that bastion of truth, the Russian government. If you want a consistently critical view of the United States that's also good journalism go to Al Jezeera.


As for the lawsuit, we should take any judicial ruling coming out of China with some serious heaps of salt. The country does not have anything like the rule of law. In America you get the best outcome by having enough money to get the best lawyers, in China, and many other places, you get the best outcome by having enough money to bribe the judge or being influential in the ruling party. Neither is perfect, but at least here you can theoretically, and often do, get consistently just results, particularly in civil cases.

Yes, aljazeera is great, I used to watch it until they started asking for subscription. Although it too is funded by a government.

Yeah, and Qatar's pretty bad too. But at least Al Jezeera's a decent news source. Russia Today is Pravda TV.

Actually, I've had a good experience with Al Jazeera America so far. It seems like they have a unique angle on every story. It's a nice change of pace from everyone else's BS

RT is decidedly biased against America; Fox News, CNN, Yahoo, MSNBC, etc. are decidedly biased toward America. Al-Jazeera America is the only news source that actually reports things with some relative intelligence and fact-based journalism rather than politically-skewed opinions. It also does a great job of reporting the things that you should care about rather than what dress Kim Kardashian wore last night.

I agree with you. AJA covers stuff that other news agencies completely ignore, and I never have to worry about any Kardashian BS on AJA. Maybe journalism isn't dead after all.
