WIth regard to the main question I am not sure because I do not know what happend exactly. However I think the U.S. was in the wrong in at least some of their military actions if not all due to what I have read. As well, I think Draugnar is a fool.

All military actions?

What would that even entail?

When that army cook made those potatoes, they were overdone!
Lord Gartho (100 D)

@Draugnar- Maybe, but being a fool is bad either way.
@Acosmist- I was refering to actions involving death.

@Garth (where's Wayne?) - You have posted a sum total of 21 forum posts and you have been defeated (not even a survive) in *every* game you have played here and you expect me to actually take your comments about my intellect seriously? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha <*inhale*> hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Draugnar (0 DX)

But I'll give you a chance to explain why *you* think I'm a fool. Every statement I made on the last page is a factual statement. You cannot deny my own experiences trying to get into West Point or New London and, considering I took the oath when I joined the Marine Corps in 1984 and the Corps insisted we understand fully what was expected of us so made us sit through and learn (not hard to do) what our oath meant under every conceivably possible situation, I think I have a damn good understanding of it. so what was so foolish, fucktard, that you felt you needed to insult and establised member of the forum and a top 200 player on the site. Well, fucktard, I'm waiting...

That is how I would expect a fool to act. Forum posts and a few losses has almost nothing to do with my ability to accurately describe your intellect.
Draugnar (0 DX)

How about a 157+ IQ and the fact that everything I stated was factual. Do you deny this?
Lord Gartho (100 D)

Okay, you argue that the man ahould be executed for being a traitor to the US and you also admit that the US commits all sorts of war crimes (while you swear). Capital punishment should never be used as there is a chance that the person is not guilty, it is immoral to kill in most religions, and it doesn't save any money or have anything good come out of it. As well, the US as you admit commits war crimes is not always in the right and so because of that the man could be a hero if he is showing the evil doings of the US and trying to make it stop. You say that the US military does bad stuff but that an american soldier should always do as told even so.

He is contributing to the breakdown of the chain of command. If that information is in civilian hands, then fine. You totally ignored the part where I said that I had no problem with the media using it, only with his leaking it. He committed treason and, as such, should have to pay the price. I don't honestly think he should fry, but he should do hard time for it. Had he been a good soldier and honestly leaked the info knowing the price he'd have to pay, I would consider him a hero, but he did so to spite the military which had busted him and should have kicked him out long ago, probably as early as boot on a general discharge with the "inability to adapt to a military lifestyle" qualification, but some assholes manage to slip through the filtering aspect of boot, especially in Army boot, which doesn't focus on discipline first.

Anyhow, my former exagerations from early in the thread were to counter the wimpy ass "he's a hero" crowd who don't see how important discipline is in the armed forces and that this punk was doing what he did, not because it was "right", bet because he wanted to screw the military.
Lord Gartho (100 D)
07 Aug 10 UTC
There is no reason he would want to attack the military and in doing so risk his life unless he thought the military was doing evil acts which should be brought to everyone's attention and stopped. So you believe that anything should go if it comes from the top. Such as what was happening with the Nazis, you would think that a man who showed the world the evils that were going on in Europe was a "punk" who deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail considered a bad guy?
Draugnar (0 DX)
07 Aug 10 UTC
Twist words much? I said if I thought his reasons for doing his actions were righteous I would call him a hero. But you chose to ingore that part. He was a seriously angry young man. He wasn't thinking about consequences of his actions for him personally any more than the postal workers who go in and shoot up their post offices. Get real and grow up.
Lord Gartho (100 D)
07 Aug 10 UTC
I did not ignore that. I said "There is no reason he would want to attack the military and in doing so risk his life unless he thought the military was doing evil acts which should be brought to everyone's attention and stopped."
Draugnar (0 DX)
07 Aug 10 UTC
There was every reason he would want to attack the military. He was busted down in rank numerous times and was on a career path to dishonourable discharge even before he started leaking info. He had reason to attack with false accusations and managed to find some truthful ones instead. But his reason *were* an attack. Any person who had fully read his military history/background could see he had was an angry young man with "reason" (unjustified except by his anger) to attack the military.

This story should help show that he felt he had a reason and was angry at the military. It sheds light on his actions as not being about self sacrifice in the name of justice but about his being out for revenge.
Lord Gartho (100 D)
07 Aug 10 UTC
I read it and I don't know what you mean. Revenge against who exactly? It sounds like he was angry at society and what the military was doing among other things.

The weird ways of Johnny Foreigner
As you travel the world more and more you begin to understand that people from all nations and backgrounds are basically the same. Then, just when you're beginning to feel at one with the society you're visiting, you come face to face with a concept so bizarre and alien it leaves you in a state of open jawed incomprehension. Lets hear some stories of the weird things foreigners do!

How's this for weird?
There's this girl at my high school who screams at the top of the lungs whenever she gets frustrated or stressed out. Sometimes we're just working in class and we suddenly hear screaming, and all the freshman are like, "why isn't anybody doing anything?"

Wow. The New Testament actually spells out in the which commandments we have to obey.
Read Mathew 19: 16-30. And note that when Jesus told the man to sell his possessions, he was actually saying one additional commandment we have to obey: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The man was putting his possessions before God, that is why Jesus told him to sell everything.

Please Help Science
I am entering the third year of a science research class at my high school and so far I have had limited success with my topic, cryptozoology. I mounted an expedition to find Bigfoot, but came up empty handed. In order to have results to present at competition next year I have shifted the focus of the project and I would really appreciate it if you could take this survey.

Kudos to Russia and Germany in this game. I don't believe I've ever seen a partnership work this well. When you factor in that there was no messaging allowed in this game, their alliance was literally incredible.

Obiwan and the TV Church: Attempting To Understand The People of the Book and Their Point
Well, it's a common criticism of me when I speak at school, on the bus, on this site-iif you're going to criticize the Judeo-Christian Tradition, you HAVE to give it a fair shot first, church and all.
So I'm tuned into "Uplifiting" on Dict TV: All Bible Study and Christian Church programming, all the time! (First observation--Christians can't afford better production values for their Holy Netowrk?) ;)
