It'd be ideal for me if the games started Sunday afternoon rather than Saturday, as I work all weekend. Other than that, cool!

How does this differ from the point system? I mean, what is the basis of this this rating system? i've played Diplomacy for many years but I've never heard of this. Is it related to the site or something else?

It differs considerably, because your GR is based partly on who you play *against*. Racking up a few wins against top players will boost your GR better than winning loads of games against poor performers or newbies.

Ah ok. And it also calculates draws and all of that? What about the PPSC and WTA? Does that matter? Do the points really matter besides how much you can bet on a game?

In GR, the points matter, because it's an indication of how good you are at the game. It's a ranking system.

The built in point system on this site is a load of garbage. It's best to ignore them. GR was developed by one of our members and gives a much better indication of skill. It is based on the same rating style that many chess players use.

If you don't mind, I'd like to retract and set up a game of my own. I expected to end up either in game 2 or 3. I'll play if you need me, but seeing that Draugnar is already available to sub, that could be better.
