TGM just posted the rule. If you need to re-read it to ensure you don't get banned (You do) you can ctrl-f it. And how is this rule? "Kestas owns this site, runs it for fun and out of his own pocket, and has granted the power to the mods to whatever the hell they want to."

This is not law, this is not a democracy. If this were a democracy, you, and all your trolling friends, would have been banned a long time ago, by an overwhelming majority. No one's opinions matter except 6 people - Kestas and his 5 mods. Believe me, I wish it were a democracy. Then I'd fight a hell of a lot harder to get you banned.

@rlumley - Actually Dip did in fact multi and that was what got him banned. He didn't play in any games with his other account, but he created it and then refused to fess up.

Not to say someone can't get banned for other reasons. Just that it didn't happen then.

No, I don't believe that at all. People who ascribe to Eugenics or believe that Social Darwinism is a logical conclusion of survival of the fittest REALLY get on my nerves. It's probably one of the few issues that really steams me because evolution is one of my favourite subjects and it really boils my blood to see it misused. I've done several presentations on the folly of eugenics. I was completely joking with that remark.

Also, hellalt, you realize that the classic role of "Moderators" is to moderate forums. So far, there hasn't been a ban other than for multi accounting and for severely spamming the forum. However, that doesn't mean trolling is ok, it's just that so far it's been really convenient that all the trolls so far were also multi accounters because being a dick goes hand in hand with being a dick. Don't push it because nobody wants to set a precedent that overrides free speech, but this is a Diplomacy site, not your personal playground. Use some common sense and don't be a dick. The site is still private property, and if Kestas wants to ban you because you like Led Zeppelin, he can do so. We just try to be a little more reasonable than your average troll.

@Chrispminis the people I find most annoying are the ones who take Idiocracy seriously, I've even spoken to someone who thinks road signs are "putting brakes on evolution". The guy was German too, they should be more aware of the dangers of eugenics than anyone

by the way kestas. This is the first time i enter a forum that doesnt requires that i agree with some specific rules when I join. Don't You think it's high time you added some rules.
to the all the rest: I won't lose my time trying to convince you that even a site owner cannot ban people from the community he put so much effort to create for no reason. Go study about online communities and the ethics behind them. In fact just go to the first grade and study everything from the beginning assholes...

Haha love the solidarity. Just let the conversation go on, but as soon as we get insulted suddenly we jump to live.

Hellalt - players have been banned for something other than multi-accounting, but it's quite a big step remember. If we ban someone then that's it, they'd have to start again, and we try our best to get people to just change and grow up a bit. No there aren't many forum rules and I guess that sadly we may have to start adding some. Until now the site has functioned very happily with people using that good old 'common sense'.

Just to add, none of the mods are 15, and my mother says you were so small she doesn't want to talk again :)

I' sorry to say that forums are supposed to have a basic set of rules that you and the rest of the supposed managers seem to ignore.
First of all there have to be certain written rules of accepted and unexpected behavior. every forum (except this one) has such rules. You agree to them when you are registering for the forum.
Also, moderators are supposed to have a special mark or something so that users know which one is a moderator and who isn't. How am I supposed to know that You are one? The fact that there seems to be only 5 moderators on this forum doesn't mean that I am obliged to know who they are.
Last but not least when unacceptable behavior happens you have to give a clear warning like "If you do behavior A or B again, you ll get banned". Indirect messages like the ones you posted before cannot be counted as warnings.
I'm not telling this because I care if you ban me or not. Just letting you know how a forum should work. This is not my personal opinion. It's common sense based on every other Forum. If i get banned I wont have any problem to start over again. Maybe if i start over i can finally play as england without having to wait for thirty+ games...
Finally let me say that my point in writing in this thread was to suggest you are just trying to spot and victimize one or two persons basically just to try to have fun. I knew from the very first moment that I could jump into the place of the submariner making you stop worrying about him and start the witch hunt against me. So I ve actually proved my point and you know it. The fact that submariner prefers to be silent and hopes this will end doesn't mean that I think the same way. When people attack me, I tend to attack back ten times more. So, If you want to keep on this go ahead. You just make my day and there is no threat at all that can work on me
