Webdiplomacy Tournaments?
I am interested in doing some kind of diplomacy tournament but I do not know how to get started. Also, I saw a thread about GR ratings, and I was curious how you get involved to have a GR rating. Any help would be appreciated :]

Is it possible to delay the start of a game? Because recently I have been forced to remake a game due to a lack of players. The game is Funny Story-2. Also is it possible for a game to start with less than max. players like in the board game.

How badly will Obama lose in 2012?
Will Obama lose as bad in 2012 as Jimmy Carter did in 1980?

When the liberal-democratic oracle-The Washington Post- has this headline you know you are looking at a one-term President.

Obama Ratings Sink to New Lows as Hope Fades

More than 60 percent of those surveyed say they disapprove of the way the president is handling the economy and, what has become issue No. 1, the stagnant jobs situation. Just 43 percent now approve of the job he is doing overall, a new career low; 53 percent disapprove, a new high.

From the latest Gallup poll
An economic speech calling for more stimulus isn't going to change these numbers.

President Barack Obama earned the lowest monthly job approval rating of his presidency to date in August, with 41% of U.S. adults approving of his overall job performance, down from 44% in July. He also received term-low monthly job approval ratings from both Hispanics (48%) and whites (33%) and tied his lowest rating from blacks (84%).

The president's current standing with Hispanics reflects a rather steep decline since January, when 60% approved of him. This follows Hispanics' less-pronounced drops in their support in each of the first two years of his presidency. As a result, the gap between blacks and whites in Obama's job approval has been widening while the gap between Hispanics' and whites' approval has been narrowing.

New York and Nevada have special elections tomorrow.
The race is New York was supposed to be a slam dunk for the Democrats in Weiner's old house seat.
The seat in rural Nevada is traditionally Republican.
If the Democrats lose both it is a horrible sign for Obama. It will indicate the jobs speech didn't hit home at all.

President Obama is lagging behind Republicans in the chase for political moderate voters in 12 battleground states, according to a new poll by the centrist Democratic group Third Way.

For Obama to win re-election, he will need to persuade a large number of voters who switched allegiances in the midterm elections to return to the fold, according to Third Way. Yet the poll of voters in 12 battleground states suggests that Obama is on shaky ground with swing voters.

GOP wins in NY House race, seen as Obama rebuke

If you are an American, and an individual who believes in high taxation, big government, and the cradle to grave nanny state then you better pull your head out of your ass, because you are a member of a rapidly shrinking minority and tonight's election of a GOP representative in a district that used to be a pet of Chuck Schumer's is proof positive of how rapidly that world view is among the America electorate.

So start focusing on getting that resume ready because the when President Perry sends bills to the Republican House and the Republican Senate in January of 2013 to repeal Obamacare, repeal Dodd-Frank, eliminate the Car Czar, sale the government's share of General Motors, eliminate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, reduce the amount of regulation in the Federal Register from 90,000+ pages of regulation to 20,000 pages, end subsidies for green energy, remove prohibition on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, remove prohibitions on building nuclear power plants, remove restrictions on drilling in oil shale, opens up the entire Alaskan north shore to oil drilling, privatizes Medicare for those under 55, reforms Social Security for those under 55, reduces the corporate tax, reduces the capital gains tax, and reduces marginal tax rates the American economy is going to take off like a bat out of hell and everyone will be singing "Happy Days are Here Again!!!!"

The 9th Congressional District seat won by Republican Bob Turner has not been in Republican hands since before the Great Depression.

This is simply an indication of how America has turned against cradle to grave nanny state Democratic liberalism.

Nubz, that is a good rule of thumb. I mute withering barrages of abuse on this site. It's so clean and simple.

I'm issue driven. I've never met a candidate that I agree with completely. Obama is one that I've disagreed with the most since Jimmy Carter though.

Since Obama is sure to be the Democratic nominee I can't see anyone but Romney or Perry running against him and I not only will vote for them, but I will give them money and work for them as much as I can in my area.

"This is simply an indication of how America has turned against cradle to grave nanny state Democratic liberalism."

Really, was that what you said about the arch-conservative Republican district in western NY that went Democrat, when voters said the #1 issue was Republican efforts to kill Medicare?

This had nothing to do with Obama and everything to do with Muslim bashing/foreign policy. The Jerry Springer exec which now works for the Moral Majority in Congress sent nothing but attack ads against his opponent for supporting freedom of worship in NYC. If you'll notice Turner explicitly rejected aid from Tea Party wackos like Tenderloin here.

The candidate who wins the election in 2012 won't have to promise much on the job creation front given today's story on unemployment.

The number of Americans filing new claims for jobless benefits rose unexpectedly last week in a sign concerns about a weak economy were sapping an already beleaguered labor market, data showed on Thursday.

Applications for unemployment benefits climbed to 428,000 in the week ending September10 from an upwardly revised 417,000 the prior week, the Labor Department said.

It was the second straight week in which claims rose. Wall Street analysts had been looking for a dip to 410,000.

Pretty badly with stories like this emerging.

"The four-star Air Force general who oversees Air Force Space Command walked into a highly secured room on Capitol Hill a week ago to give a classified briefing to lawmakers and staff, and dropped a surprise. Pressed by members, Gen. William Shelton said the White House tried to pressure him to change his testimony to make it more favorable to a company tied to a large Democratic donor."

Corruption in a White House dominated by Democrats from Chicago.
Who'da thunk!

Obama proposed $467 Billion in new taxes in his "jobs" bill to be enacted in 2013 . The only jobs Obama has ever created are in government. This new bill should be renamed the "Create Jobs in Tax Collecting" Bill.

The Solyndra Scandal and the corruption inside the Obama administration will just be another reason to add Barack to the list of one and done Presidents.

From the liberal rag the LA Times.

Obama fundraiser linked to loan program that aided Solyndra

Steve Spinner, who helped monitor the Energy Department's issuance of $25 billion in government loan guarantees to renewable energy projects, was one of Obama's top fundraisers in 2008 and is raising money for the president's 2012 reelection campaign. His wife's law firm represented the company, administration officials said Friday.

Spinner's role as a top official in the Energy Department program, which had not been previously revealed, is likely to spur new inquiries into whether political influence played a role in the handling of the "green" energy fund. Solyndra faces a congressional probe, a criminal investigation and separate internal inquiries at the Energy and Treasury departments.

Stanley Brand, a criminal defense and ethics lawyer in Washington who has served as general counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives of the Solydra Loan "it's embarrassing, it's ham-handed, it looks bad, but so far all we have is the White House trying to advantage itself in a political way with a loan."

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sept. 6. Two days later, agents with the FBI and Energy Department's inspector general served a search warrant at Solyndra headquarters in an inquiry focusing on whether the company misled the government in applying for the loans.

Spinner was a Silicon Valley investor who founded a sports and wellness company before he joined the administration in April 2009 after serving on Obama's transition team. He was named an advisor to Energy Secretary Steven Chu and was charged with helping oversee a loan guarantee program authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the economic stimulus program.

SolyndraGate just keeps getting worse for President Obama

The Obama administration restructured a half-billion dollar federal loan to a troubled solar energy company in such a way that private investors — including a fundraiser for President Barack Obama — moved ahead of taxpayers for repayment in case of a default, government records show.

ok as a noob to this great game I have a question, when I move into a new country with a supply center, on the next turn it shows my unit there with a little square that is my colour and the country is still the same colour as the "enemy". why is this? do I need to leave my army to "hold" the country for a turn? or am I miss understanding the rules?
