I'm not sure I am particularly in favor of GR integration into the site just because nobody ban agree on it as is. I definitely think reliability rating is a good idea, though.

I wonder if, for CDs, something as simple as an extra pop up box that says "Are you sure that you are able to play this game to the end?" after someone clicks join game would be effective. I actually think it might be.

I don't think we should ban for CDs, though I think there should be a punishment. I've said it before… open up the games at a discounted price and make the CD player pay the remainder of the price for the new player. More games get taken over, even in crappy spots.

Fortress, you are just exaggerating like an idiot here, there is no reason why you should be banned for losing or playing like an idiot. Losing REALLY doesnt make sense. So what if they're a bad player? At least they PLAY.

Resign needs to remain on a quitters record even if his position was taken over. One of the big flaws in our current record keeping.

I have with Dolphin. It says something about invalid request so I had to switch back.to.the shitty default android browser.

I didn't implied a workaround for passworded games. What I implied, is when I join a game I'd like to know what skill do the players have, between boundaries.

To agree with you, GR integration and Reliability rating would be far more then enough for a while.

On banning CDs, well Realiability Rating solves it.

@uclabb: just becuase you have GR integrated it doesn't mean you have to use the feature. You could still create GR free games.

And don't forget many games are created on the forum based on GR, it would make this part automatic, but don't affect the regular bisuness.

With regard to advertising our existance, do we actually want a huge influx of new blood? As things stand we get a trickle of newcomers who are either immediately scared away or get quickly assimilated into the native culture. If new blood came in an almightly wave we risk eroding the established values of elitism, arrogance and smugness that we all know and love.

Oct, this "wave of new blood" happened once before. It was how we actually got a lot of new features. I'll dig up the threads (deeply archived) later. If I remember to.

I agree that most of these changes are bad ideas (maybe advertising is the only one that sounds good, though you wouldn't want to do anything to cause angst at Hasbro). Many communities that start out cool end up ditching the things that made them great when they try to change just for the sake of growth for growth's sake. I like webdip, and I have little desire for another large, soulless game website with arbitrary and annoying rules.

It is possible now to play games against exactly the people you wish to play against. Isn't that enough?

How about hybrid points scoring, i.e. Winner Takes Half, other half split PPSC. Might stop a few resignations, or maybe not. Thoughts??

That sounds like PPSC to me.

What I was thinking was along the lines of if the pot was 100, France wins with 18sc, Turkey has 8sc and Italy/Russia have 4 each -
France gets 50 for winning plus 26 for sc = 76 total. Turkey gets 12 for sc, Russia/Italy get 8 each. Gives some reward for playing to a finish without resigning.
