The weird ways of Johnny Foreigner
As you travel the world more and more you begin to understand that people from all nations and backgrounds are basically the same. Then, just when you're beginning to feel at one with the society you're visiting, you come face to face with a concept so bizarre and alien it leaves you in a state of open jawed incomprehension. Lets hear some stories of the weird things foreigners do!

As somenody says, "favourite" doesn't seem like quite the right word to use.

However, one of those that I find most interesting is Market Garden. Such a bold vision, major parachute assault combined with armoured strike, organised in a very short space of time (6 weeks iirc) that came so close to success. There is a personal dimension too in that my uncle was the RA Forward Observer attached to 2 Para and died on the bridge.

More generally, bold operations appeal to me so you will not be surprised to find that the original blitzkrieg is on my list. Particularly the actions of XIXth Corps under Guderian and especially the 7th Panzer Division under Rommel.

It's posts like the opening post that make me think that TMW is not for real. I think he believes the exact opposite of everything he says. Is he even a pilot or a professor in aeronautics. More likely he is is a deep sea dive or a geologist.

9-11 bitch-slap on the U.S.A.

AMERICA, Fuck Yeah! Love it!

Humiliated by a man who lives in caves and wears a diaper on his head.

To this point, none of you pussy faggots, like diplomat, have been MAN ENOUGH to do anything about it.

Unless you call invading the WRONG COUNTRY FOR OIL PROFITS an appropriate response.

Pathetic wankers.

Has to be Operation Wyvern Storm. A mere training exercise with no global significance whatsoever, but with two redeeming features. Firstly it had a really cool name, and secondly it was the most fun I've ever had on a weekend.
@ mapleleaf --

Sucker-punch is a better word. The invasion of Iraq had very little/nothing to do with al-Qaeda. We invaded Afghanistan, too. And we almost got that rat bastard Osama. We DID get a lot of his friends.

Get your history right, you pathetic wanker.
@ Fugass -- Well executed, but, unfortunately, most of the commandos didn't make it back.
Sherman's March, American Civil War. It was the 19th Century equivelent of shock-and-awe. Imagine living in Georgia during the Civil War, and you wake up, and a bunch of scary-looking soldiers in blue uniforms are in the process of stealing your chickens and burning down your barn. In GEORGIA.

Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to be *serious* in this thread?

Because, y'see, I find the whole 'teenage troll trying to start conflict with his uber-right wing 'ideas' that are put out there just to see if someone will take the bait' thing to be... less than something that manes me take a discussion seriously.

Seriously guys, you can take the subject and run with it, but waxing wroth because TMW makes statements that are *designed* to make you wax wroth is just... silly

The troll should be ignored, and it will go away. The last thing that anybody should do is grant the troll personhood. Treat it like a virus that spams the forum. It's not as if it's here to play the game. The site loses NOTHING if the troll is ignored.

Can you imagine how the troll would react, if it were to be COMPLETELY ignored?

It would simply spam the forum EVEN more, out of sheer petulance.

Not that this will ever happen though. Sadly, despite all of the pretense of sophistication, most of the members here are stupid punks that LIVE for this kind of nonsense.
Personally, I've always been impressed by the amazing defense of Toothopolis from the continued assualt of the Cavity Creeps.

Oh hey, it's a Canadian talking smack about the rest of the world. Don't try to be USA. That's all I can say (as a non-American, someone who is from a part of Asia with a large muslim population, a poor country with a lot of terrorism, but with a brain so that I can think for myself).
mapleleaf (0 DX)

@ava - Unless you're a woman, that is. Muslim women are nothing more than cattle. It is a culture of hatred.

Keep telling yourself that you have freedom of thought and expression, if it helps to ameliorate the conditions of your imprisonment.

Tell me the women over there CHOOSE to walk around in the toasty burlap prisons(burkas).

I could use a good laugh.
Draugnar (0 DX)

@maple - Do you realize just how many people from all over the world (including Canada) were in the WTC that day? 24 of your countrymen are presumed to have died on 9/11 at the WTC. So celebrate it up, fuck head. You're celebrating your own country getting a kick in the gut too.

@Ava - I care about all people. Even you although for the love of God I don't know why. And my point was addressed at mapleleaf's insinuation that 9/11 only affected America and was this big punch in the face to America. It was an attack on the *World* Trade Center, not the *US* Trade Center. Countries from all over the *world* lost people that day.

Oh, and while you are being a smarmy mother fucker. Here is a list of the canadian's whose lives were lost with full bios. Please note that 20 of the were *men* you fucktard.

@Abgemacht

I think we underestimate what a genetic boon to the US Pickett's Charge was. 5,000 southerners dropped in an hour? We would be a much stupider society had Lee cut his losses.
"I think we underestimate what a genetic boon to the US Pickett's Charge was. 5,000 southerners dropped in an hour? We would be a much stupider society had Lee cut his losses."

Mapleleaf, you try to start shit just like TMW. Ooooh, ooooh, loookitme! I'm all anti-American, lookitlookitme! PLEASE LOOK AT ME! MY LIFE HAS NO MEANING IF YOU DON'T LOOK AT ME!

Here is a theory: They're the same troll, trying to troll from two directions at once!

Nah, that would be giving both of them too much credit for being clever.

There's this girl at my high school who screams at the top of the lungs whenever she gets frustrated or stressed out. Sometimes we're just working in class and we suddenly hear screaming, and all the freshman are like, "why isn't anybody doing anything?"

Wow. The New Testament actually spells out in the which commandments we have to obey.
Read Mathew 19: 16-30. And note that when Jesus told the man to sell his possessions, he was actually saying one additional commandment we have to obey: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The man was putting his possessions before God, that is why Jesus told him to sell everything.

I am entering the third year of a science research class at my high school and so far I have had limited success with my topic, cryptozoology. I mounted an expedition to find Bigfoot, but came up empty handed. In order to have results to present at competition next year I have shifted the focus of the project and I would really appreciate it if you could take this survey.

Kudos to Russia and Germany in this game. I don't believe I've ever seen a partnership work this well. When you factor in that there was no messaging allowed in this game, their alliance was literally incredible.

Obiwan and the TV Church: Attempting To Understand The People of the Book and Their Point
Well, it's a common criticism of me when I speak at school, on the bus, on this site-iif you're going to criticize the Judeo-Christian Tradition, you HAVE to give it a fair shot first, church and all.
So I'm tuned into "Uplifiting" on Dict TV: All Bible Study and Christian Church programming, all the time! (First observation--Christians can't afford better production values for their Holy Netowrk?) ;)
