I like Aztecs, very versatile. I really dislike playing Zulu or Assyria though.

Assyria's siege tower is unstoppable though. And if you're friends with a military city state, they will *always* gift you siege towers

I'd possibly play later tonight. I beat deity way back when Civ 5 was first released as and national college was with writing and steel had less prereqs and you could just go writing -> library -> national college -> beeline steel -> kill with samurai but I've barely played in a few years and never multiplayer, so I'm sure I'll get crushed.I tried the newest version and I thought any of the countries with special improvements were cool, it was fun playing on a mountainous map as the inca, for example.

That's the first time I've ever seen Germany anywhere near top tier.

I think they're great, very versatile. The production bonus from cs trade routes can be immensely helpful.

25% cheaper army too and early bonus saving time capturing barbs rather thsn building extra units.

China, Korea, Poland, Babylon are my 'Top Tier'.

So in multiplayer does every just rush everyone else basically, or?

They're all awesome too.

Korea is powerful but I dislike getting them in MP because they're always an early and constant target.

Well, we've tended to play pretty respectful games in the mod games. As Goldie & I are far more experienced than Captain/ghug/2WL. Nobody other than Goldie seems to try for Domination victories so far; though I'm sure that will change.

I have fond memories of ghug declaring war on me and throwing pikemen at my great war infantry.

You picked your civ and deserved to suffer for it. Goldie's gonna crush you while you're busy dealing with my trash.

I hope so; because I'll win that game as soon as Goldie declares war on me.

To be honest I just love any map you didn't have, so that I could complain about you not having it ;).

I'm quite enjoying that Highlands one; even if my city spot sucks ass.

The thing with rushing eachother is that it's often a severe pain and if you're anything near evenly matched, a third party may take the victory while you're duking it out.

If I get a military civ though, I will take a couple of cities most of the time at least. In one game I'm at 9 cities, 7 of which I conquered. That was as Mongols I believe.

It's always a possibility you have to take into account, though. Just make sure you can defend yourself if you are attacked and everyone tends to opt against attacking you automatically.

And then someone snatches your settler and you're like: really??

I at least tried to get away with your settler and use it.
