Was life better under Labour or Tories?
To be honest I find it difficult to decide between life under Blair or life under Cameron. I have been more prosperous under Cameron but that's due to my own career, and I do remember Blair's regime being a bit intrusive, but maybe that's just false memory.

Portrait of a CEO
Found this profile in LinkedIN and wanted to share - there are *so* many of you that operate under this delusion that CEO's sit on their asses sucking down caviar and drinking campaign while figuring out ways to stick it to the little guy. If you've ever known one, or know the child of a CEO, you know a guy that is never home, always on the go. THIS guy in this profile is invovled in about 20 different companies...helping other people make it int he world. Yeah...what a bastard!

Capture Your Capital
I once saw someone refer to a modern map game whereby everyone was given a target on the other side of the map that they had to get to and hold. Does anyone know how this was set up (e.g. which did each country have to aim for?) and would anyone be interested in trying to set a game of it up?

I started a stock market simulator and am really getting into it. I'd like to learn a lot more to be able to trade some of my own funds once I'm more comfortable. Any recommended reading for someone looking to learn more about investing, chart reading, etc.? There is so much out there I can't tell what is garbage being sold and what is good.

The JSF
Could someone explain the concept and justification of the JSF for me? I've kinda always viewed the whole program as the epitome of military waste, because (as far as I know, please enlighten me) is seems like the Pentagon is replacing perfectly effective planes (the A-10, F22, F18), all specifically suited to their niche with ultra-expensive planes that do the jobs of all models stated above, only at a more generalized and mediocre level.

Tea partiers above average at science
For a fun, completely statistically insignificant, easy-to-misinterpret, and unprocessed statistical datum, see this post by a Yale Law professor on his surprise at finding that being in the tea party correlates positively with scientific knowledge. Should be good for some fun discussion.

Krellin is fun. He'll make some crazy ass assertion, you look it up and find out he's wrong, and he runs away like a whipped dog.

I've done it twice in the last week, and its super fun.

If the average tea party yahoo is like Krellin, its hard to have anything but contempt for the entire movement.

Also, Krellin, I doubt if you actually have a background that includes honors English... your posts are littered with bad spelling and whatnot. I'd say it makes you less credible, but I don't think credibility can go negative.

You did it twice last week, Jack? In your fantasy world, I suppose...as for "running away..." actually Jackiepoo, some of us have a life and relationships *outside* of webdip, and our absence from here is simply because we are off with real live humans.

And Jack....you off course ignore* the question above - how many Tea Party members do you know in real life? Or are you just the typical Libtard sheep? This is par for the course for Jack...they simply ignore everything that they don't like -- they refuse to answer the questions in a dialogue, they deny facts that counter their beliefs. It's must be a sad life.

As for your attack on my education credentials...I don't actually need your belief for it to be true, Jack. If I gave a shit and tried, I'd write better. Half my posts are from a phone, and I just don't care to correct. Others are just written in haste, and again, I don't care to correct. But Jackiepoo, I could write circles around you even if I went back to the bottle, of that I have no doubt. But anyway -- your only purpose in bringing that up is to deflect from the real issue, because you have no real answers...the typical Liberal attack dog...Good boy...now go to your room!

You claimed the Republicans wanted to negotiate, and the Dems wouldn't. I pointed out they tried to go to conference 18 times. You ran away.

You blamed the Democrats in congress for Bush Jr. spending. I pointed out that the Republicans controlled Congress until the last two years of his Presidency. You ran.

Every time you claim to be so awesome, but you are too lazy to do it, I laugh.

The Tea Party just got its ass handed to it. I don't need to rip on them... their actions alone have condemned them.

Oh, also, basically my entire extended family from Iowa are crazy Tea Party types. Love 'em anyhow, but they're kind of nuts.
krellin (80 DX)

Jack - the Republicans *passed* over 26 bills, that Harry Reid wouldn't take up on a vote. You ignored this point.

The Senate *never* proposed a budget, Jack....it's hard to sit down an have a conference when there is NOTHING TO CONFER ABOUT....so their "for public viewing only" requests to confer were all for show, all for lapdog liberals like you. You can't negotiate when you refuse to propose anything, Jack...I'm not sure how much clearer I can make that to you. But you go ahead and believe the liberal political stagecraft...they rely on good sheep like you.

As for Bush - no, I *squarely* blame Bush for Bush's spending - but he can only sign or veto what is presented to him...and I blame him for not wielding the veto pen, and I blame Democrats for holding the American people hostage - as Republicans had only small majorities, the Deomcrats could and did block everything Bush proposed...they held the country hostage (I think that's the term you Democrats use when a minority party blocks thing through procedure, right?) So I completely blame the Democrats in Congress for holding the US hostage to their excessive spending habits through the use of the filibuster and other techniques. Hostage-takers...that's what the Democrats were, right Jack?

And again, Jackie poo...I don't run...I *live my life*. I'm not a slave to WebDip as you are...I get satisfaction elsewhere in my life...something maybe you should try. Your pathetic attempt to insult me because I don't slavishly sit by my computer waiting for you to ignore another direct question just wont stick with any reasonable soul around here. Good lord, Jack, get a new line of attack...you are looking rather pathetic, I fear.

And Jack...the Tea Party didn't get their asses handed to them. They are a minority in a minority party. Here's what they did, Jack...they ran for office on principle, and then they stood by that principle and fought for their constituents...and somehow you think this is bad? lol Moron...

As opposed to Barack Obama, who in 2006 said raising the debt ceiling was a failure of leadership; said it was an immoral act to dump our excess spending on our kids and grandshildren; said it weakened the US...Obama said all sorts of terrible things would happen by raising the debt ceiling...and yet once elected, turned 100% opposite on his word...and *this* you find praiseworthy. Jack, you are either sadly uninformed, or you have no morals and no principles, and will follow a man who tells you absolutely contradictory things from one day to the next and still you will believe him. What the hell does that say about *you* I wonder? For one, it means you are not acquainted with truth and integrity in your daily walk through life, and as such, it truly makes if difficult to take anything you say seriously.

For example, your supposed Tea Party family members...I question their existence, and certainly doubt that you have any relationship with them in which you have any idea what their views are. You are simply *not* a believable person, Jack - you are a man who acquaints himself closely with lies, and supports liars with great fervor...meaning that you, by association, are a liar, Jack.

Here's the real question about your post, Jackiepoo...do you *understnad* the image that you linked to? Do you have enough knowledge of what has happened with the ACA that you can clearly articulate the concern raised by that protester?

This is your chance to demonstrate integrity, Jack....without venom, pretend you are a "Tea Party" member and elaborate on what the concern is as stated on that sign. Let's see if you can play Devil's advocate with yourself and demonstrate even the tiniest bit of knowledge about what the ACA is doing.

OK Jack...GO:

From that i take it that Krellin infact thinks we're not real just because we're online. Which by 'treat others as they would like you to treat them' means we shouldn't treat him as a real person (while on webdip)... Perfect!

This is real life. I have a life, thank you.

Ok Bengal, I'm going to call out the bullshit in some of your posts.
"And I cannot think of when I last watched/read CNN, MSNBC or any liberal rag. My opinions are formed from reading more main stream media"
MSNBC: Second most watched news program in america.
CNN: Most internationally watched US News program.
Fox: Most watched news program in America, with ratings higher then the next 3 channels combined.

If that isn't mainstream, then please tell me what the fuck is considered mainstream.

"I also do read the dissenting opinions from outlets like Fox and Breitbart"
Firstly you just said you don't watch fox, now you claim you do to see what their opinions are.

Secondly, studies have shown that reading heavily bias opinion articles that differ from your own opinions will make you reinforce your beliefs not question them. If you want to see alternative view points to your close minded beliefs this is the WORST way to do it.

Lastly all news outlets are bias, reporters and journalists are great at breaking the news but not reporting the news. To avoid bias, this isn't how you should get your news.

This here is actually a perfect example, I found out the study that smeck linked about from some right-wing website, rather then reading the right wing spin (which was tea party members are more intelligent than democrats), I actually went to the original study and read it.

Don't trust what the media says, rather then read what they say, read what their sources say and form your own opinions. That way when finding out the news, your not already subject to the bias of the journalist who is reporting.

"see Todd Akin in Mo for one example. "
Cherry picking stats, thats a fallacy. Also Todd wasn't a tea party member, he was part of the conservative establishment who proclaimed that he was a tea party candidate as soon as the tea party tried to oust him. Todd Akins was never a legitimate member of the tea party movement.

"Plus...I did not think that a lot of right wing religious fundies (who also call themselves teabaggers) believed in actual science...I mean man did roam the earth with dinosaurs after all..."
Ok Bengal, I am seriously convinced that you don't know what the tea party is. It is not a movement of religious fundamentalists, nor are any members of the tea party movement traditional conservatives and McCain and other neocons are hated by the tea party (Neocons are called Rinos by more extreme tea partiers).

The tea party movement is a reactionary movement opposing the expansion of government over the last 15 years and looking to go back to the core limited government principles that made America great.

Under proper political definitions, the tea party is a liberal-reactionary movement, and a polar opposite of many core conservative values. Don't confuse the traditional conservatives (like Todd Akins) or the neoconservatives (like John McCain) in the republican party as tea party republicans just because all three groups are in the republican party.

"Now...you my friend clearly are the sheep...and I am guessing of the Sean Hannity variety...because all you do is spout off Faux Newz and right wing rag commentary with little if any fact behind it (just like most right wing newz outlets)...to say nothing of the fact that I am guessing your education is something less than that of a third grader."
I've never watched fox news, its bias crap just like CNN, MSNBC, NYTimes, WSJ, Washington Post, Etc.

"Fox is a dissenting opinion to me"
Don't read opinion articles. PERIOD. They useless and only serve to make you more close minded.

Also on the topic of mainstream news, a quick google showed that CNN is the 2nd most viewed online news site. MSNBC is 3rd, New York Times is 5th and Fox is 7th,

So the only way you can remain consistent and call CNN and Fox not mainstream is if Yahoo is the only source you consider to be mainstream news.

Krellin, krellin.

You fail at basic constitutional knowledge.

The House proposes a budget. The Senate rejects/amends/etc. Which the Senate did. They then requested to go to budget conference. 18 times.

The House refuses. 18 times. Then all of a sudden, after the shutdown (Which the Tea Party types were thrilled about... seriously. You want to blame others for the shitty results of your juvenile policy, but you can escape the fact that your supposed Tea Party leaders in Congress WANTED a shutdown. They were thrilled it happened until public opinion turned on them), the House wanted to go to budget conference.

So in other words, I guess I should be happy... you're just a poorly informed fool, instead of actively deceitful and evil.

I suppose its better that way.

(Oh, on a side note, for somebody who claims to have a life outside WebDip... I went to go find some crazy shit Krellin said, but he has so many replies on the forums that Kestas's code literally overflows from too much data). Krellin really doesn't have a life outside this site, it seems. :)

@Orath -- No, you are not a real person to me...you are a made-up name on the internet. If you can not differentiate between spending time with flesh-and-blod human beings - wife and children - in real life doing real things, versus sitting around mental masturbating in WebDip, then you have serious issues, my friend. I'm glad you are here, and I'm glad we get to exchange jabs...but if you ceased to exist tomorrow, it wouldn't make a bit of difference in my life. If my flesh-and-blood real-world friends and family ceased to exist, it would make a great impact. But perhaps you are younger than I, and have grown up in an internet world where this place holds a much deeper meaning than it does to me...
krellin (80 DX)

Jack -- I asked you to do something very specific in answer to YOUR post....you refuse to do so.

You are not worth my time, Jack.

We have already demonstrated quite clearly that you are a man of lies, that you wrap yourself in the lies of your political heroes and sway like like a sheet in the wind, changing your opinion with every contradictory utterance of a Democrat politician...so I really have no use for you, Jack.

If you are not even man enough to discuss the details of your own post, then you either have no idea what you are posting, or you are afraid of losing face when the facts start making you look foolish.

Either way, you are just another disingenuous, lying Libtard. Good day, Jack.

Also, don't mistake your own delusions about me for what "everybody" thinks.

You're alone, Krellin. Your own asinine ideas are yours alone.

Best part? You and your cohorts lost. Big time. And honestly... keep trying. Every time your political chums have a tantrum, it makes me and mine look like adults, and the people realize that. The Tea party shot itself in the foot on October 1. And to compound the problem, they decided that one hole wasn't enough, so they emptied the magazine at their foot.

I find it hilarious. So keep ranting, and keep foaming at the mouth. This is what political irrelevance feels like.
krellin (80 DX)
18 Oct 13 UTC
Jack -- Are you scared, is that it? I asked you a very specific question about YOUR POST...and you refuse to answer it. What's the matter Jack? This is why you are not worth anyone's time...but I will keep posting this to make it clear to everyone who the coward is here in the argument...it would be Jack, the guy that won't even discuss the details of his own post.

Jack, you surround yourself with liars. You cheer Obama...and yet which Obama do you cheer? The one that says raising the debt ceiling is evil, or the one that says it would be evil not to raise it....which Obama do you cheer, Jack? I also haven't seen you cheering the $1 TRILLION in debt we will incur over the next 3 months...come on Jack, sing the high praise of massive debts! Let's see you cheer these things on, as I have previously asked of you! MAN UP and openly support this as a *good thing*.

But you won't....you won't answer direct questions, you won't delve in to your own posts, you won't explain which version of Obama you love, you can't defend the actions of massive debt increases...you are truly the king of lies and bluster, Jack.

But answer me also this, Jack, if I am alone in my ideas, how do I have cohorts? Once again...nothing but contradictions and lies from Jack. Perhaps English is your second language and you know not what you say? But no...that would be the easy out. Sadly, you are well acquainted with English...and still know not what you say, as is evident to all here.
Jack_Klein (897 D)

Good doggie.

Keep foaming, my deluded comrade. Political irrelevance suits you.

(Krellin, you don't seem to realize that I'm not interested in debating you. I'm only interested in showing how much of an unhinged lunatic you are. Mission accomplished)
krellin (80 DX)
18 Oct 13 UTC
@JAck - of course you are not intersted in debating...you are Liberal. This was demonstrated in Washington recently, as your kin refused to debate and negotiate. That's because you are closed minded, and unable to defend even your own argument....most likely because your arguments change with the blowing wind.

But now everyone here has seen your confession that you refuse to even discuss YOUR OWN POSTS that I question.

You attempt to insult to deflect...and it only shows you to be the fool we all see.

Sad little Jack...caught in his own web of lies and ignorance, has to run away and hide.

It is also possible to be literate in the ways of science but choose to reject science for dogmatic or ideological reasons. As in I don't believe in science.

Jack...run away? Oh...you mean the way you have completely failed to address specific questions posed *to you* regarding *your post*? Jack, Jack, Jack....you are becoming more irrational by the moment.

Jack_Klein (897 D)
19 Oct 13 UTC
Krellin, the entire idea of you bleating about people not addressing your questions is hilarious... you're well known for the same thing yourself. I'm not interested in listening to your inanities.

Stop trying to pretend anybody else cares about you here, Krellin. You're the town drunk. A jester. You make even less sense than Sybvl did. At least he's got some principles, however insane.

I mean, before I can address anything, please address the fact that you blame 2000-2008 spending on Democrats, despite them only controlling Congress for the last two years.

Or how you claim the shutdown was the Democrats fault, despite the Senate (controlled by the Dems) was trying to go to conference with the House after they rejected and/or amended the budget. 18 times. Or how the Tea Party was super thrilled, and it was "Exactly what we wanted".

Or you can just do what I expect, and run away like a whipped dog.

Go ahead. Its not like I or anybody else here can have a lower opinion of you.
krellin (80 DX)
19 Oct 13 UTC
Jack - you seem rather obsessed with me. Why don't you man up and answer the question I posed to you Jackiepoo.

Oh, I know, you are scared of being humiliated *again* by me. Sad little Jackiepoo. Wrapped in his web of lied and deceit.

Jack....regarding spending in any period, Jackiepoo....let's see, Democrats NOW control the Senate and White House, but everything is the Republicans fault, right? So clearly, by applyinh YOUR logic, when the Repubicans had control, the Democrats were at fault, right?

I'm sorry Jack...I try to apply your reasoning to situations, and you reject even that. So....again....clearly you don't have any consistency in thought.

Such as your support of OBama...so which is it, Jack, do you support the Obama that in 2006 said raising the debt limit was failure of leadership, a weakening of the country, and evil perpetrated upon our children? Or do you support the Obama that says not raising the debt limit is evil, and will weaken our nation, and would be an evil perpetrated upon our children?

It must be difficult to be you, Jack, having to constantly lick you finger and stick in the Democrat wind to find our what you believe from day to day....and that, no doubt, is why you refuse to discuss any issue....because you are afraid of having your own words turned against you.

Sad little Jackiepoo...

Sorry to disappoint you Jack...but I'm here right now, waiting for your answers.

Come on Jack....explain your post above.

Come on Jack, please tell us which version of Obama you support.

Come on Jack....explain *YOUR* post above in which you posted a picture of a protestor -- tell us what the complaint is so we can see if you understand *anything* about the argument, or if you are just a left-wing attack dog. --- Not a loaded questions, I'm asking you to explain YOUR post.

Come on Jack, please tell us which version of Obama you support - the one from 2006 that thought debt ceiling increases were dangerous and a failure of leadership and immoral, or the Obama of 2013 which said NOT raising the debt limit was dangerous, a failure of leadership and immoral. Not a loaded question....I'm just curious *which* version of Obama you support

Come on Jack, please tell us why another $1 Trillion in debt over three months is beneficial to the nation, without any structural changes to the budget. You are clearly in support of this $1Trillion in aded debt, as you have previously claimed Republican were "holding America hostage" and that they should step aside and let the $1 Trillion debt increase go through uncontested. So explain how this is a great and wonderful thing. Nothing loaded in the question Jack...I'm asking you to explain your stance on an important topic.

When you start answering the questions posed to you then I may consider answering you.

Man up, Jack.

And Jack has run away like a cowardly dog.....surely that's what it is, too, because, if you all recall, Jack claims that anyone that doesn't immediately anwswer him has run away. Of course, he has been running away from answering questions all day.

Truly, Jack is a coward.

A Salute to Sbyvl and TC
Let's salute Sbyvl and Tettleton's Chew - these players don't just get into politely arranged, uptight, evenly matched forum debates. They get in there and embrace the chaos against anyone and everyone, risking freak loss at the hands of any old noob and damage to their discriminatory half-brains. Respect!

If you pay any attention to the way indigenous groups are treated, you'll know this really doesn't come as a huge surprise.

Who to silence next
How about the next person to post one of these threads which is knocking actual diplomacy related threads (yes we actually have a few of these) off the front page.

Is using the word 'fuck' a problem to anyone?
Does anyone give a **** about it? What does it express? I usually use it in a funny way if I use it, around people who don't mind... But who does mind?

Discuss :P

NFL Pick 'em: Week 7--Peyton's Homecoming, Rex's Boasting, and Monday's Debacle
We kick off Week 7 of the season tonight with a contest Obi hates--Seahawks and Cardinals, Hate vs. Hate. The unbeaten Broncos travel to Indy as Peyton "comes home" to take on his former team, the Colts. Rex Ryan has his swagger (and mouth) back and says he thinks Jets/Pats this week can be like the Jets won against the Pats...years ago...and Giants/Vikes in a MNF disaster of scheduling. So, that and more, Week 7--PICK 'EM!
