Phase Lengths
So there are a bunch of game phase lengths in the range from 30 minutes to 4 hours. Why would anyone ever want to play a game that made them wake up every hour for (potentially) weeks? Has anyone ever used those phase lengths?

Words that are easy to say but hard to live by
I think we all have principles that we believe in that we have trouble following. Here's one of mine--These words from Paul's letter to the Christians in Philippi are close to 2000 years old and still carry tremendous meaning: Philippians 4:6-7. What are yours?

Should We Feel bad for Refusing to Draw Out for 10 years?
gameID=111449 I bought in high, and flubbed a solo run. Once stalemate lines were drawn, I just couldn't live with Germany getting a piece of the draw. However, though I retreated in 1913, England England refused to execute him... I understand loyalty, but I refused to end the game. Germany CD'ed in 1925 making both of our stands on principle moot.

A Request for a Generous Mod
Hello,

I have a request for a trustworthy individual. Draugnar will have to agree to the individual (and to participate in this). It will take probably over an hour or more of your time, but the site will make $100.

Minor bug
Several times in a game of mine, in the list of players at the bottom, it has shown that France is muted when I never muted France. I believe it has only happened when I've been in Russia's messages. When I switch to a different country's messages, it goes away, and doesn't come back when I switch back to Russia's. It's possible that it only happened when I'm first viewing the game after a new turn has began, but I'm not sure.

@Red_spy: This one factors in time. I took the test and scored a 136, took it again giving the same answers but this time answering instantly and got 140. Looks like you weren't smart enough to crack how this test works.

@Zultar: Sorry, I was just complaining about the questions that will penalize my dyslexia. I have an IQ of 136 according to that site, though I cheated. I googled the answer for one of the questions (the second of the 2 questions I posted above since it was taking too long for me to figure out)

On the other hand, I took a real test last August and got 131 or 155 if you ignored the essay, spelling and speed reading components. (and by the way, red sox, again time was taken into consideration.)

Peak GR is like 155.

I'll take the personality test later. I'm 30 questions in but have to go now.
Peak GR - 116.59
IQ - 143

@Gunfighter Do you prefer the original Myers-Briggs or have you looked into other version of that system like Keirsey? I've done some reading on the Keirsey version since Mr. CF is pretty into it. The things we do for love and well it's kinda interesting.
^also the Iq test is both timed and doesn't have a cap of 150

Keirsey is awesome. I've read basically all the Myers-Briggs-Keirsey books because I enjoy personality profiles. I've even given out Keirsey books as gifts to my students.

LOL @Tolstoy.

I'm an INTJ or as I like to think of it, INTelligent Jackass, although my wife doubts the INT part. My introversion is 85-95%, but I have also learned to be extroverted when I am at work or teaching. Give me a book or on my own, I don't much care for interacting people -not counting webdippers of course. :)

And just as a reminder folks, please email us the result at [email protected].
It would make it much easier for us to record the data and not have to comb through the forum.

Pleaaaaase.

The IQ test might not be the best, but it's free and the personality test is fairly accurate. I'm more interested in the personality types.

And like Zultar mentioned please email the results to us as well!

@ Celticfox

I agree with the Myers-Briggs in the sense that Introvert/Extravert, Sensing/Intution, Thinking/Feeling, and Perception/Judgement are the axes of personality. Isn't the Keirsey type just another way of dividing/labeling the Myers-Briggs types?

You probably got them all right. I had a 148 on first try because I took too long since I stopped mid exam to put in orders on a game and I got all the answers right. Retook it with the same answers without losing time and scored 154.

JMO, Zultar,

The more I think about it, the more I think the results of this will be flawed. First, the IQ test. This is an Internet test, and not a valid test proven by a Research Lab or whatever. 2nd, the All-Time List is flawed since it has a combo of very different type of dip game: live, Gunboat, Classic, WTA, PPSC,that all require a different set of qualities to do well in game. Why has the best gunboat players around 60% Win/Draw ratio while the vast majority have around 50-55% win-draw ratio, and in the classic game, I see the best ranked players around 65-80% win-draw ratio. The mix of it all is flawed, mainly based on the fact that every different type of game requires a different skill set.

If I were you, I'd analyse these datas based on different style of play, you might have better results. I'm sure MM, SD and Barn3tt all have different approaches to the game and they definitely don't have the same skill set, yet, they're all in the top.

3rd, the personality test. Personality doesn't affect the way you play gunboats as much as it does influence you in a full press game. In a gunboat, it might affect you if you are stressed and make judgmental mistakes.

Finally, there are maybe people who will send flawed answers to this. That's a tough one you guys are getting yourself into

All that being said, I still took it and here are the results:
IQ: 137
Personality test: INFJ, I 11%, N 38%, F 38% J 11%

Ancient Med Stats?
Does anybody have any win/ draw stats for ancient med games? I know it's quite a balanced map but does any country fare notably better or worse than the others, such as can be seen with Italy in Classic, and South Africa in World etc.
Just by looking at the map I feel like Greece and Egypt might be worst off, despite my only ever solo on this site coming from Greece.
