I don't really get it....because unless we know what you think of the nation and what you think of the player, your supposed connection is kind of meaningless.

No....I don't do this at all, particularly since I personally play every country different, and play them different when I play them different times. So the idea of attributing a nation to MYSELF is foreign (other than that I despise Austria)....so I would certainly not apply a nation to others.

Each game is unique, each player is unique, based upon each unique game.

I do this too fortress, I do it generally based on the first country I saw them as.
I think of MiM as France, Zmaj as russia, you as austria. Tyran as Austria as well... Etc, Etc.

I never said it WAS meaningful, just that it was interesting. Each game is different, I understand that, but some stand out more than others, so you associate them with that coutry. I associate Zmaj with Italy due to his Drunken Master opening and, as well as the fact that he seems to get Italy a bit, at least from what I see

Now when playing I often forget who is playing what nation and just play against the nation not the player.

Draug, I do that to, that is why I have no fear of possibly meta gaming, cuz it wouldn't even affect anything. Also, gotta say, for all the mods, I dont meta game.

No. I usually don't even pay attention to who is playing what country and most frequently refer to a person as their country while in-game and by their name in the forum.

I go against the nation in-game as well, but one of the biggest thrills of anon to me is finding out who everyone else was.

But when I'm in it its somehow obvious.... :p

I just realized i associate all the mods with Russia... the exceptions being abgemacht, orathiac, and Tru Ninja

President Eden is France, cause he is diplomatic, soft and while fun to be with noone cares about him (like France)
Draugnar is Italy cause he always has all those master plans about conquering the world but again noone cares about him and ends up with a draw :P

I think we have played only one game and you were Italy so that popped in my mind but I don't remember your gaming style at all.

Hellalt will forver be Greece. I picture him as Italy or Austtia with one last desperate fleet clinging on to lofe and hanging out in Greece at the mercy of his neighbors.

So like Greece in real life, right?

President Eden will forever be England in my books, from a game we played almost two years ago now. He's a crafty little bugger who will eat you alive if you turn your eye off of him. That is how I think of England, and that is how I think of Eden.
