Which country do you think has the most respectful people?
Limited to civilian people, military does not count. Overall, from all areas of the country. Two rules, cannot say your own country or a country you have never actually been to or only heard of.

What Diplomacy game are you most proud of?
What game of Diplomacy (full press only) that you have played on webDiplomacy are you most proud of? Please share the game ID(s) as well.

This one doesn't look so impressive at first glance, but it's almost certainly the one I'm most proud of because of the play and thought that went into ensuring that both players had to draw with me still on the board, despite no stalemate line being possible.

gameID=158995

Also because there were some fantastic players in it :D It started as a Face to Face game in London and continued on the site, culminating in the most interesting endgame I've ever seen in a Diplomacy game.

And for balance, here's the game I'm least proud of :D

gameID=182619

I don't think that one needs much explanation.

Very interesting. I will take a closer look at those games later.

Thanks for the response.

That is the game I am most proud of. Italy and myself had talked of a two-way draw since the very beginning of the game. Admittedly, I didn't necessarily think it would happen, and I wanted a situation where I could stab late and get the solo.

Unfortunately due to the flow of the game, I never really had a good chance to stab - but our alliance worked throughout. In the last two years, Italy had a chance to win as he was past the stalemate line and I couldn't protect Berlin. For two LONG years, I talked relentlessly to Italy about how drawing is an even cooler achievement than winning because it is so rare etc. and somehow got him to include me in a two-way draw. I was surprised that I was able to convince him of this, but it just shows that being likable can go a long way.

Full disclosure: Had I been in his shoes I would have taken the solo. Also not one of my best tactical games - but in this case communication trumped tactics.

Game I'm least proud of? Pretty much every gunboat game I play...

Surely my most interesting game.

I'm hoping it's one I'm playing right now but I'll have to play my best game and I definitely need the favours of all Diplomacy deities in this one.it's a ghastly gunboat style game that I mistakenly entered but got my dreamboat country. The odds are against me, but I know plenty of webdipbros and webdipsisters will be behind me, many putting a razor sharp edge on various blades, checking coshes, gats, knuckledusters, warriors & other sundry weaponry..

I enjoyed this game because I got to stab like twelve people and none of them ever caught on to the fact that leaving the back door open is a bad idea.

My most recent victory as England, gameID=186846. i had a great time setting up the central defense line and held off a challenge by turkey. it has already been mentioned as the classic all out attack on russia by england.

Probably my best strategic performance in a 7 way draw.

I don't even understand what happened in this game.^ Also, why is there still so much discussion in the global for a game that ended in the Autumn of 2012?
That's a question I often make myself, always to the same answer!

I guess this victory as Germany, surprisingly flawless as it happened to be, is certainly my best performance, by normal standards (http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=168647#gamePanel).

But the game I'm most proud of is, definitely, this one: http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=106923#gamePanel

I still recall my anxiety in several key moments of it. A very unremarkable game up to 1910; failed invasion of France, failed attack of Germany, failed attack on Italy and, well, attacked by the three of them. But from 1910 to the end it became a mad effort to contain a Russian solo. In the beginning of 1915, for instance, I controlled Iberia, Marseilles, Munich and Trieste, deploying fleets at Nao and Aegean, and armies in Munich, Silesia and Trieste, having to coordinate with each and every member of our coalition.

Still don't know how I managed to survive it.

What is the worst Christmas or holiday gift we have ever received?
I got a pair of socks once, not even cool socks. Just plain white Hane's socks, not even a value pack or anything. Just a single pair, turns out they were only worth two bucks anyways.

A bunch of my friends started this up, but being new to the game half of them lost interest and wandered off. But we forgot to password protect it and now innocent bystanders are being dragged into this NMR suffering. Any chance we can just call it quits?

Is it me, or is the Modern Diplomacy map really bad?
The starts are more unbalanced than in any other variant, and builds anywhere means there is no incentive to defend your homeland, and lessens strategic depth as there is also no incentive to try your best to hold your ground when you've extended relatively far from where you started. I've played this variant a couple times, but it keeps disappointing me. What's the appeal?

I'm not purely trying to detract here, I sincerely want a counterargument.
