Which country do you think has the most respectful people?
Limited to civilian people, military does not count. Overall, from all areas of the country. Two rules, cannot say your own country or a country you have never actually been to or only heard of.

Trump hires cheap foreign workers

Trump saves money by hiring cheap foreign workers. Does minimum legal requirement to get them instead of US workers.

What is the worst Christmas or holiday gift we have ever received?
I got a pair of socks once, not even cool socks. Just plain white Hane's socks, not even a value pack or anything. Just a single pair, turns out they were only worth two bucks anyways.

A bunch of my friends started this up, but being new to the game half of them lost interest and wandered off. But we forgot to password protect it and now innocent bystanders are being dragged into this NMR suffering. Any chance we can just call it quits?

The Democrats don't control the NC Legislature. This is just the normal politics of a divided government. Same thing on the federal level where the Senate refuses to vote for opposing political appointees, or changes the rules of the Senate to get a bill passed, such as was the case with the ACA.

Good lord...as the Liberal's hero Obama once proudly said to the cheers of his mindless sycophants, "Elections have CONSEQUENCES". SO tired of whiny hypocritical Democrats boxing about the FACT that they don't get to set the rules AFTER THEY LOSE. Stfu, really. Republicans have control, they *legally* to action, so fucking deal with it. Quit doing shit the electorate doesn't like and then you get to set the rules.

End of discussion.

Eturnage, do you think the US Senate would get away with cutting the President's appointees down from 1500 to 300 simply because they were of the other party and doing so under the guise of organizing emergency funding for wildfire and flood victims?
krellin (80 DX)
18 Dec 16 UTC
@Bo - yes, they would as long as they are not violating the Constitution. Based upon your question, I'm not certain toy actually understand how government works.
krellin (80 DX)
18 Dec 16 UTC
This idea of "get away with" implies you think they have fine something illegal. They haven't. The feelings of the whiners that lost the election are, in fact, not the proper basis for running the government. There will be another election in the future, and if the voters are displeased with what happened they can take corrective Acton in the polling booths. Until then, the *losers* DON'T get to run the show. That's how it works.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
18 Dec 16 UTC
Krellin, maybe you aren't aware, but politicians don't have to break a law in order to be hassled for being shitheads. I didn't reply to you because a) you can't spell, and b) you're talking about people being sore losers when first off, most people talking about this power grab don't give two shits about North Carolina on a regular day, and secondly, the sore losers are the Republicans gutting the incoming Democrat's capabilities because they're sour that their incumbent candidate lost by 10,000 votes. So long as you're claiming that liberals, not the conservatives who are gutting their new governor's power preeminently, your opinion is meaningless because you don't even understand that the Democratic candidate *won*.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Oh, option two is that you didn't read the article. Of course, that is more likely. You sometimes have smart things to say when you bother reading.
krellin (80 DX)

Large Republican majorities in the house and Senate of state government. They are in part acting too limit the power of the incoming governor which will stop him from being able to act without legislative approval. And someone liberals think this this is bad? You think a governor should be able to act as dictator?

I know your argument - "wahhhh... But the last governor had it, blah blah blah". And it was wing then. It is being corrected, it is legal, it is being fine by a legislative branch that is in control bore and will remain in control.

Sour fucking grapes, that's what any complaint about this is.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
18 Dec 16 UTC
Not being able to appoint his own people is a lot more than stopping someone from acting without legislative approval, and doing all of this under the guise of environmental damage relief and only beginning this process after the completion of a recount that declared a Democratic governor the victor over the Republican incumbent tells me that this isn't the noble Republicans righting a wrong but the asshole Republicans being salty and making a grab for power.

You're not this dumb, krellin.

Appoint people *WITHOUT LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL*, which is a pretty standard thing. Jesus, you aren't this dumb, Bo. Aren't the Democrats near orgasming right now over the prospect of trying to not approve Trump appointees?

Hello bo_sox. Yes, I think the Senate will do whatever they feel they can get away with. You mentioned the Constitution. No. I don't think any of our politicians give a rip about it. They prove that all the time. The Senate gets away with sh*t like what's happening in NC all the time. Obama appointed a Judge for SCOTUS. The Senate refuses to act. Trump selects a Secretary of State. The Senate Democrats refuse to vote for cloture. A Bill is stalled because Massachusettes elects a Republican Senator. Harry Reid changes the rules to enact the ACA. Same ole same ole. And no, they don't give a rat's *ss about the Constitution. It's all about the money.

Is it me, or is the Modern Diplomacy map really bad?
The starts are more unbalanced than in any other variant, and builds anywhere means there is no incentive to defend your homeland, and lessens strategic depth as there is also no incentive to try your best to hold your ground when you've extended relatively far from where you started. I've played this variant a couple times, but it keeps disappointing me. What's the appeal?

I'm not purely trying to detract here, I sincerely want a counterargument.
